GEN 2 Plastic Oil pan #3 leaking. 70k miles. New pan every other oil change. Help?

There is a TSB, but the parts/labor are only covered if you’re under warranty. When was the last repair performed? The TSB didn’t come out until 02/2020, so if the repair was performed before that, it wouldn’t have been sealed correctly.

At 70k you’re out of powertrain warranty; do you have an extended warranty through Ford? If not, and you bought it new, you can contact Ford corporate and see if they’ll cover all or at least part of the repair since it’s a known issue (TSB) and it’s a repeat repair.

Guess I'm ****** on the ************* known bad part. Truck has leaked oil pretty much most of the 4 years I've owned it. I'm so pissed.

I would demand the dealer that did it last time warranty the repair and take it up with Ford as @FordTechOne suggested and show your dealer the repair procedure. Calmer demeaner may result in some help, maybe it will actually get fixed right and you wont be dreaming of Prius's at night.

I agree with @CoronaRaptor. As an alternative, if you’re going to pay out of pocket anyway, use a trusted (if you have one) independent mechanic. Show him the procedure and explain your expectations.

I have an independent guy who handles everything not warranty related, and he’s far superior to the local dealer mechanics. Primarily because he takes his time and pays attention to detail.

Mine has a tiny leak, which I’ll need to deal with at some point. I’ll give the dealer one shot to get it right. If it leaks again, I’ll just have my independent guy do it. I’m under an extended Ford ESP, but the lost time, days without the truck, etc, just are not worth it if the dealership can’t get it right.

Next step is probably I buy a metal pan, fix it myself, and it never leaks again.

Just nut up and put the metal one on there.

Quit acting like it's some type of spaceship that requires service. Nut, bolts, sealants and gaskets, just like every other car made.

Well, I don't have a lift, so it will be a bitch, but yes, I will do what Ford apparently can't do and get it to stop leaking myself.

Kick that stupid ass oil pan in the ****.
Then take it and dump it off at the last service managers desk. Don't clean it either.
