Hi RLTW

Damn, this is exactly what I need to do: fix rattling in the doors, reduce noise. But after reading all this - I am overwhelmed. How hard is all this? Really - I have the time - but the more I read the more I get lost. What do you think?

Best,

GTC-NOVA

Hi NOLA,

Amazing post and work you've done. I too need to get rid of the rattling in the doors and soften the road noise. Reading your exceptional post with all these pictures though - I get so overwhelmed. Is this a DIY job or you really must be extremely technically savvy? Do you have anything for me before starting with the doors to help me not screw anything?

Much appreciated,

GTC-NOVA

Like Nola said, it's more time consuming than anything, the only part where you might possibly get in over your head is the floor but even then it's all about being organized and thinking ahead. Take pictures of things as you take them apart so that as you put them back together you remember where they go, things look different covered in sound deadener. Also bagging and labeling bolts and fasteners will help you stay organized. Like I said, the floor is the most time consuming, pretty much everything comes out.

*gloves are for sissies lol kidding

I did the same to my Camaro. I have an LS1 in it with custom full exhaust system and it was way too loud in the cab to talk and or listen to music. I did the sound barrier and it is night and day! When I had my Raptor built, I did not think to insist on adding the sound barrier. It became sooooo loud and squeaky from the suspension that it was actually pretty annoying. I sold that and Just bought another SCREW Raptor. I WILL be adding this to it weather I do a full build or not. It makes that much of a difference. Great article. Important and relevant.

I just finished my rear doors and the back wall/rear floor. I took it the step further and pulled he seat and rear carpet up a few feet. Unfortunately I took my before pic, and realized as I hooked up the carseat that I forgot to take an after pic. Haven't driven it yet, I will put up some feedback when I do.

Wish the picture still showed up on this old thread because I need to try this on my 2012. Have always hated the noise level.

Yeah those OP pictures would be nice, but the process is well written, just go for it! Did mine a while back, it definitely helps:
