just replaced mine (2017) for the 4th time. Have the 5th in the glove box.

I wish I could find the part I used. Pretty sure it was a Yamaha part straight from Amazon

I actually made a thread a year ago asking what the hell those tabs were for. I even posted a picture of the underside of the lid. It was quickly pointed out to me that it even says "PENS" on the lid. I never saw it, even though it was in the picture I posted!

That thread is where I got the idea from. I think someone actually suggested storing one there. I just ran with it after I had an immediate failure.

That's not true at all. IWEs are in the hub, not the transfer case. My understanding is that IWE deletes are like permanent hub locks.

So technically, I should have said, "You wouldn't be able to switch in and out of 4 wheel drive PROPERLY anymore." I said nothing about a transfer case. Why would you ever want your hubs locked all the time, instead of replacing a $15 part? Especially when 98% of these trucks spend the majority of their time on the street.

Well I installed my new IWE valve and I am still hearing the clattering noise at high RPMs in 2wd. Not sure what to look for at this point.
