It wasn't too bad putting it together. Comes in 5 pieces but I used my buddy and our wives to put lift on since you cant slide it. Took us about an hour all together. The hard part it the side pieces sag before you put the end pieces on so its definitely a 2 person job.
There were some nuts missing and I had to run to home depot to get them. Was supposed to get reimbursed but never did but its like $4.

Removing it I plan to do a garage lift and a couple 2x4s, but havent done it yet. its only 6 clamps so should be easy.

My only gripe is the third brake light for the cap. The harness was missing from the box and the one RSI sent me goes into the 7 pin connector which puts the truck into tow mode and throws a bunch of codes. Super frustrating. I also ordered a rack for it from offroad alliance that was supposed to come in Dec 12th but cant get a response from them on if its in yet.

Not sure who you've been reaching out, but the load bars are due to start shipping in early to mid February based on the information that RSI has provided to us for their incoming containers. And you've been refunded $4.

Thanks, I am happy with the customer service from Offroad alliance, its been great. Just a little frustrated with RSI and when you pay that much for something expecting it to be perfect. Reading some other forums the missing parts/issues with the harness are very common.

Looks as good as a cap can look on a truck. Those things are SUPER functional and I nearly got the same one for my rig... for the same reason of hauling the dogs. Unfortunate for the dog but fortunate for my truck, the one passed away and the other is small enough to comfortably ride in the back seat with my kids.

The modular design of that cap is really nice. Good luck with it.

Just curious, why did you not color match the canopy? Any deals on this ?

I have one on a Lead Foot and love the contrast of the black canopy. I will say that I've noticed some sag with the weight of the canopy and some few off-road items I keep in the bed. I plan on putting in new leaf springs on my upcoming shock rebuild. That said...it handled small jumps on high speed runs very well.

Curious! How easy is install/uninstall? How much does it weigh?

I paid a canopy company to assemble and install mine. That included running a new wire to the front of the truck for the brake light and they know where to put the silicone sealant to help ensure it's as waterproof as canopies can get....haha. Best $200 I've spent.

Just fyi update: Mine’s been sitting in a box for a month in a vain attempt to get it color matched. Rapid Red is a real challenge and I’m on my last guy in town who might attempt it and plus the thing is stainless steel compounding paint difficulties. But i did open the boxes and do inventory ( looking for the table I ordered etc) and wow I love this cap. Much install want...however...NO wiring harness OR table! Now they’re nice people and going to get right on it etc...which is cool. But I’m not sure if I even want the harness since it knocked out one guys BLIS system and it will be ‘weeks’ ( not a precise measurement) before I get the table. Update RSI will pay for the light install. Pretty cool. I’m relaxing now.:drink_nl:

My canopy installer didn't tap my taillights, they ran a new wire.

RSI has definitely had a few issues with the third brake light wiring harnesses, or lack there of. But they will pay to have it professionally installed at a local to you shop. As far as the RSI accessories go like the table, load bars, kitchens, etc, the demand has been sky high and the supply rather sparse. More and more shipments are arriving every month so orders are getting filled as quickly as possible.

If anyone is looking for a cap or accessories, let us know! Always happy to help.
