The forza is 85W per channel, with channels 7/8 bridged for 250W available for a sub. Your 8.9 is 35W per channel, bridging channels for 130W...not enough for a sub.

I think your amp might be more properly sized though. IIf I understand properly, you've got 35W to the tweeters, 130W for the front doors, 35W for the rears. Then you can power the sub(s) with whatever sub you want. With the forza you have 85W each for tweeter and door, 250W for sub. If you want more for sub you're wasting what the amp can do.

800 W Peak Power

It's the AP1D that looks just like the AP8.9 bit in the photo

AP1D is the mono amp for the sub, not a digital remote. I was reffering to the DRC MP or DRC AB.

@mrdoenutz do you mind sharing how much you paid for for the AP8.9 (main amp) by itself? I'm trying to see the price difference between the regular amp and Forza version ($1500)

Really? Wow. That makes a big difference. I figured it was going to be around $1200 or so since other 8 channel amps with built in DSP run at $1400 or more.

@mrdoenutz or @melvimbe - been through this thread and melvimbe's about his journey upgrading and wanted to see if either of you would do things differently if you had a 2nd go at it? Still satisfied? Regrets?

Yes and no. I went with a single ported 12" sub and part of me wishes that I gone with 2 subs. That's ok though since I can add a sub amp, 2nd 12", and new box, without losing much of what I already had.

The only other thing I might regret is not going with a more publicly known Amp/Dsp. The shop I got it done from seems to have undergone some changes, mostly the guy who did my job isn't there any more, and I don't like that I have to find a place that knows Audison if I ever want to do changes. Like what I described above. Although honestly, I don't think it would require retuning, and seems pretty straight forward based on user manual.
