On keep it dirty video, he had to lift the bed about 1/2”
I see, perhaps this is a Gen-2 requirement; for which, I don't recall having to do this on my Gen-1 and got lucky with the tank loosening to swing it out of the way. Only had to disconnect the electrical connection for good measure as it got a little tight when swinging it a smidge.

I have RPG bump stops on my 17 Gen 2. In my case, there was no way to get the crossbar under the bed without loosening the bed. For some reason, my bed bolts wouldn't move, and rather than tear them up or ruin any more forged Torx bits I decided to leave the bed alone. The only thing interfering with my inserting the cross bar was a pinch lip under the aluminum bed. So I used a cutoff wheel to remove about a 2 inch section of that aluminum lip, and the bar went right in with no fuss. Once installed, I took a small piece of aluminum flat stock and riveted it over the lip cutout. Painted with the same undercoat as my wheel wells, it looks completely factory. Probably took 15 minutes all in. Never notice it.

Ok, so I used a box cutter and a awl, and cleaned off/out the factory bed liner coated torx bolts, looks stock with exposed bolt heads. Lifted bed about 3/4” and slide in bar. Btw it takes a 50 torx plus for those bolts. So that was the ez part. I didn’t know it was going to take a little fabrication to get this $1500 RPG kit to fit. The big slide on frame parts don’t fit. The factory welds on the bottom of the frame where Ford add the extra steel don’t allow them to fit. Next they don’t go in deep enough for the holes to line up for the factory bump stop bolt. Next , since they don’t slide onto the frame enough, the cross bar is a half hole away from those bolts fitting. I still don’t have it installed. Oh another thing, RPG does not supply a wrench for the inner nuts, like all the videos show, the inner nuts are welded on to a single bar of steel, that you need to fish through the 2”x3” hole on the inside of the frame, and try and hold it against the frame face as someone starts the bolts. I have yet to figure out this part, as my ******* hand doesn’t fit.
I may have to modify install steps and get the big bolts in and tightened to pull the frame pieces closer together to get the crossbar and bottoms bolts in. So far, not happy at all with the fit of this RPG air bump kit.

zx14- Sorry to hear about your frustrations. I also had some minor issues related to the bump stop strike plates, but I recommend you contact RPG. They were extremely helpful with me, sending pics and info via my cell, and even customizing some parts for me. Overall, they knew what they were talking about and wanted to help. I know that's not the fast route, but I'm sure they'll help you out. Good luck.

No, help from RPG, captain obvious over there tells me,” can’t you just worry out the holes” well ya, duh. But for $1500 , I would think you make a product that fit. And or include in your instructions,” some fabrication needed”

Sorry to hear that. I can only say I had a good experience, but sometimes you get different people. I might add for my "minor issues", if I hadn't really worked the install through in my head first, planning out parts, fit, and tools, I'd have been stuck with my truck having my leaf springs off and no way to move forward in a single work session. Not good. So not knocking RPG, but a little better instructions and accounting for certain installs could've have avoided a mess for me. Like you said, for $1500 you don't want to hear it's simple install and then get into it with your beer and tools only to find out you're stuck until you do some fabrication or get parts.
