This started simple enough, couldn't lock my Raptor using the key fob but I could unlock the truck using the fob. Remote Access app on my phone still worked but that stopped working also after a week or so. I can lock the truck using the lock switch on the inside but that does not set the perimeter alarm.

I did the master reset of the sync system and eliminated a power wire I had connected to the battery but nothing has fixed the issue thus far.

Today I have disconnected the negative side from the battery and will leave it off for an hour or so. Does anyone have any other suggestions to try before I take it to the ford store?

do you have the keypad on your B pillar? ( outside of the truck.)

If so, try pressing the bottom 2 buttons simultaneously. Does it lock?

Is your tailgate slightly unlatched? How about the hood?

Do you have any aftermarket equipment wired in? Or anything in the truck that could emit radio frequency interference (RFI)? I have seen things as simple as an aftermarket cell phone charger interfere with factory signals.

I had a temporary occurrence like this; I took my wife to a winery in the middle of nowhere, VA. When she was done with her tasting, about 10 minutes after arrival :) I tried to unlock the truck remotely by fob. it didn’t work. I tried again when I got to the truck, again it didn’t work. the door sensor worked. it was weird, but I started up, and we went on to the next destination. I don’t think it’s ever done it since. No idea why it didn’t work, usually I can lock, unlock or start the truck from like 200m away but we were literally right next to Lucille and no joy. It seemed to be location based, as in there’s likely some kind of localized interference.

I would ask if this symptom set is repeatable at another location?

The aftermarket power wire that powers my kicker sub and bed lights was disabled by pulling the inline fuse. I have KC lights on upfitter switches 1-3 that work fine and are turned off. The one thing that I forgot to unplug is power supply for my new dash cam that plugs into the power port on the dash. I will remove it and see if that makes any difference. Disconnecting the negative side of the battery for an hour and a half had no effect earlier today.

Tonight I locked the Raptor using the outside keypad and that does set the perimeter alarm, thank you @zombiekiller . Nothing else has changed.

Good thing to file away in my little brain for in the future. I would have never thought something so simple could cause issues.

So frustrated, I just left the local ford dealership $142.88 lite in the wallet. The tech said one of my keys($250+) was bad and the third brake light($500+) needed to be replaced because the red leds did not light up, I declined both. Also the Remote Access app on my phone is something he has never seen before and did not come with my truck from the factory. When I told them it was a dealer installed option from the ford accessories store the service writer just got a blank look on his face and said if I didn't want to replace the key and 3rd brake light there was nothing else they could do.
