I have noticed some weird hard harsh shifts when is sport mode that they kind of kick hard. I am not sure if it is normal or needs an updated shift program. I have also started noticing a rear back up noise which all my manual vehicles I have owned make. Not sure if the whine I hear is normal or excessive. It is only on back up.

I have owned the truck less than a year, and it currently sits at 28700 miles so it will be under warranty. I just wondering if it is something to be concerned about?

I had hard shifting until 6th gear and hard going into drive. The dealer did a TSB for tranny and it went away.

Then I got the MPT tune with tranny tune. And by tranny I mean transmission...(you sick bastards)

Boom, even better.

Ill call the dealer and see if there is a TSB for the harsh hard shifting it only happens in sport mode, as in normal mode it is okay

No.

Sport mode is for men who are men and women who are women. Shifts are firm and deliberate. This is not luxury mode. If you bebop around in sport, sooner or later you’re going to let off the throttle just as the truck wants to upshift and create a truck jarring, teeth rattling clunk. This isn’t the truck’s fault, we’re not in the right mode.

I’ve heard reverse gear whine in pretty much every vehicle I’ve owned. I’ve not listened for it in the Rap but will now. I wouldn’t be worried about it unless it’s really, really prominent.

Yeah, could be I usually have the radio on and did not hear it but this is the first I noticed it. I also can not for the life of me figure out how Fordpass has my truck and my wifes vehicle at the wrong address it is not the gps in the vehicles but the location listed in the app. It is off my about 300 ft.

oh well nothing is perfect, I guess

Mine shifts like butter in sports mode until 5th gear, then from 5th to 6th its a violent shift (like being rear ended), then shifts smoothly up to 10th.

Do you know what TSB they referenced or what work they did? My truck is in the shop for the same thing and they said there were no updates for the shifting strategy so all they’re doing is resetting adaptive learning which I could’ve done myself.

I have had the same on my 2019 Started slamming in sport then started slamming in regular, real bad on the downshift 3rd 5th then 5th to 6th. Then when you are in cruise control and who have slowed down in traffic then pull out into clear lane then it down shifted to pick up speed to cruise control was set it would slam into 8th so bad like you were rear ended.....they adjusted it again yes 2nd time they have done this. Works perfect again....
