Unfortunately we do not offer any discounts on S&B. They are very strict with their pricing and will blacklist a vendor if sold less than MSRP. We can get them but we actually refer you to our old partner of ours and get you both connected and we step out of the sale.

Contact me for details.

Looking to swap my airaid intake system for the SB Intake on my Gen 1. Curious if any vendors offer FRF discounts on these?

any issues with the air raid? Why the switch? I’m looking for an intake that will pair best with a supercharger in the future and JDM has the air raid in their kits. Thoughts?

No specific issues that I can think of. Im more looking to have a closed box intake to protect it from both the rain, (I get moisture and dirt in the bottom of the box after off roading or rain driving) and ambient engine temps. The afraid is an open system and is subject to the extremely hot temps in your engine bay which would go against the whole point of having a CAI. I have had S&B kits in my other vehicles and am amazed by the quality and detail that go into them. The top rubber seal has warn down around the edge of the frame of the afraid intake. I will make one very clear point and that is that I have had extremely great customer service from Airaid. I have called two separate times in the last two years about my filter media coming apart, and the tabs on the box frame breaking off. Both times they sent me replacements in two days with no questions asked.

There's a good chance that whatever intake you choose will jot work for a supercharger setup. Whipple comes with a large intake tube that connects to the throttle body. The air filter flange is 6” diameter. Not sure about the Roush, but I imagine it will have one larger than an OEM replacement cold air intake.

That is good to know, thank you. What intake setup do people who run whipple typically go with?

The standard Whipple setup will work fine. It comes with a large S&B filter and open airbox. The system uses an OEM Mustang GT500 throttle body, but you can upgrade to the Ford Racing model, which is said to be good for a few more HP. Here’s a pic of the Whipple with Upgraded throttle body. The air intake is a big as you’ll need. If you plan to supercharge in the near future, I wouldn’t waste my money on a cold air intake.
