Over plugged in apple CarPlay: For the past few weeks whenever I try to play music it goes over the front center speaker as if it’s “prompt” volume. Instead of the entire sound system for music audio.

Bluetooth audio works just fine.
Anyone experience this? Have a fix?

Are you using Waze? I’ve seen this before and it was the Waze app. It was buggy at the time and Waze has since fixed it but there are some audio settings that I’ve heard could interfere. I’d first try uninstalling Waze to see if that resolves the issue. If it does, report it to Waze through twitter (gets the fastest response).

If you’re not using Waze, look at the other apps you use through CarPlay. Try uninstalling those, one at a time, and testing your audio. You may narrow down the culprit that way.

Also, make sure you’re on the latest version of iOS. There were some Carplay bug fixes a while back.

So my music via spotify was being treated as if it was a voice call i think.
I made a real phone call then magically the music went back to normal.

i went over to an iphone from samsung because the samsung would never make phones calls when connected with android auto.

My SCREW is 5 mos old. Just recently my Sync has started acting up. Google Maps just inadvertently cuts on and off. Waze is a joke. Car Play just cuts out and in. I might try a new cable.
