That's a good point and I can see that maybe happening with stock springs but probably doesn't.
The anti lock brake system would activate long before there would be enough braking force to even flex the spring.

Certainly not going to happen with upgraded rear springs either Deavers or Icons

I was going to say the same thing.

I recall reading what a Ford Engineer initially stated how they minimized axel wrap with Traction-control/ABS. The very act of braking/accelerating long before tires begin to lock-up the action of axel torqueing/wrapping is already happening. The transition from driven/coasting to braking, off/on throttle, braking, and etc. you'll see how the axel is doing it's thing. OEM setup with the silly Ford block most certainly enables the wrap, Deaver/like multi-leaf spring helps 'minimize' this wrap by a large degree. Some folks opt for leaf-under to take it even further to minimize this wrap and get the gains of improved pinion angles and some other benefits.

Anyway, to each their own. I checked out the KHC torque and its interesting and reminds me of the Toyota torque arms. That works rather well. The only thing I didn't quite like on the KHC kit is that it's bolt-on kit on the axle housing and that you now have more thing to maintain with greasing the sliding yoke (Needs a boot in the very least). Welding on Cast Iron is certainly a skill that cannot be found everywhere. So welding on the frame is much easier affair with the minor inconvenience of loosening the tank a smidge to get in where you need to weld in the bracket on the Raptor. No tank drop required. An added benefit of not using the Rogue/RPG kit is that you help keep your front spring wrap from pulling apart too. Having that little shackle doesn't provide any support in that regard.

All-good in the Raptor hood, everyone has their own goals and measure of goodness. All these products are great products in their own right. I've learned a lot over the years and coming from Mid-80s Toyota world and remember how some folks took various routes to achieve their goals of goodness. Some which would always provide entertainment for my commute to see the folks who used blocks on not only Toyotas but anything with rear leaf springs and using 4"+ blocks. Seeing how the axel would torque/wrap every time they would accelerate from a stop and then braking again in stop & go traffic. This is certainly a larger degree of axel wrap that I'm mentioning and with the good discussions on various trackbar kits/springs/etc. are just various degrees of containing that axel wrap action.

Do these traction bars make any difference in the rain? I'm strongly considering getting some. After I got the truck tuned I it's easy to spin in 1st gear and I get a second gear scratch on dry pavement!

One thing I have wondered when looking at the RPG bars is why not go ahead and make a moment connection at the axle? I get and can make a case for the shackle mount on the frame side.

It looks as if it would behave similar to no traction bars but with a greater frequency shorter period. Stock would require flexural resistance from the springs to keep the axle from rotating and once it reaches that point it would rebound back and forth. This seems like it would allow the rebound as well.

I may very well be incorrect, just thinking it through.

Edit: Considering possible scenarios that a moment connection with a shackle could bind.

If I were a betting man, I’d bet they do. I have the torque arm by KHC and it’s a pretty big difference. Will you spin the tires? Yup. Can you get it sideways? Yup. Can you get really out of shape? Yup. The big difference is the predictability of behavior when you’re spinning. For me, without the torque arm, once you began to spin, things were sometimes wildly unpredictable as the wheel hop set in. With the T/A once the wheels are spinning, and most noticeably in the wet, what the truck does is much less out of shape, much more predictable and easier to correct.

I'd like to see the long term results in terms of issues, problems, or headaches with the KHC setup. Meaning, if you don't always keep up with the greasing of the yoke or wear over time. Will it start to clack & etc. Shifting of the clamps on the housing and/or after a few bashes of the skid plate what it will do to that fabricated piece on the housing. We'll see in-time. Just depends on how well used the truck gets and combined with maintenance.

Keep us posted.

What made you buy both? That’s throwing around some cash. Let me know if you decide to sell.

I’ve been looking at the RPG kit for a while myself. Does anyone have pictures of these installed? I’m curious to see how these look at a side view of the entire truck... they look “baller” which I do like lol but I’m curious going with a colored set would stand out too much
