I did not see that. Thanks for the heads up!

In addition to what you mentioned, I noticed that...

- Built in 4G LTE. So instead of using a mobile hotspot or WiFi dongle, you can set this up directly with mobile service. I don't think I would use that though, as you lose the benefit of having WiFi in the truck for other devices, and I suspect getting service for the tablet may be a little more cumbersome since it's an unknown device to the mobile service provider. I suspect anyway.

- Speaking of WiFi, this says the new version is 5GHz, not 2.4GHz. Not sure if that means 2.4GHz won't work with the new tablet. That could be a problem if your existing hotspot doesn't have 5GHz.

- The top buttons are moved back to the top where they should be in my opinion. I did not like their other 13" layout with the HVAC buttons removed.

- It looks like they've improved the equalizer. That could be a nice addition since the previous EQ is pretty weak.

- It says it has DSP. Don't want they fully mean by that.

- I don't know what to think yet about the HVAC controls. The previous version reused to OEM circuit board, and the buttons were pretty much the same location. Does this use the OEM board or are we getting a new one. My instinct is to say that this is a new board because the buttons are in different locations, but perhaps not. It looks like they already knew how to 'read/write' with the OEM board since they had on screen HVAC controls.

- 2 of the HVAC buttons have been removed. The 'AUTO' and 'DUAL buttons, on the knobs, are no longer there. They are on screen though, so perhaps not an issue. I don't use these much so I can live with it. It also could be that the version in the image shown is for a manual control system, and an auto AC version will have those hard buttons. Something to ask about.

- The mic looks improved on this version. I say that because it's a bit bigger, so perhaps not, but it's a good sign.

- I don't like the yellow lighting around the knob. Would like to know if that can be turned off or switched to a different color.

- It looks like this is the same plastic material they used on previous models. Not great, but not bad either.

- The previous screen did not work with polarized glasses. Getting an anti-glare screen protector partially fixed the problem, but would like to know if this model used different glass.

- I would want to find out if Serge's software add-ons work with this new version.

This is rather tempting, way more than other iterations. Definitely something to think about.

Good observations.

I got some feedback from them about the knobs, in particular as to why both knobs have a power button icon on them. They said that the knobs will be "user assigned", meaning that you can program them to things like volume, tune, seek, fan speed, temp. The power button icon on each knob will be for turning on/off either audio or AC, corresponding to what the knob function was assigned to.

Additionally, "long pressing the buttons can also do DUAL or AUTO, which is not obvious from the icons." <--- the message they sent me.

I really hope the knob quality build and feel is similar to OEM.

Did you guys see that Phoenix is releasing a pre-order 13" (1600x1200) Android 9/10 with their version of the physical HVAC controls for the F150? Expected release date is March or April of this year.

A few things I noticed:

* The unit comes with their hard button controls/dials for HVAC.

* 3 different hardware varieties: PX6 (4G RAM/64G ROM Android 9), SC7862 (4G RAM/64G ROM Android 10), SC7862 (6G RAM/128G ROM Android 10)

* You can choose between black or chrome (OEM) colored HVAC knobs

* A bunch of add-on type accessories

Anyone know if the performance differences between the PX6 and the 2 flavors of SC7862 is significant (similar to the PX4 to PX6 jump)?

Maybe we should start another thread for this new version

I’m going to give this some serious consideration.

I'm in, just did the pre-order. Replacing my 1st Gen unit, been waiting for the android 10 to be released. My Gen 1 is working but it is buggy and slow. Guess I'll just toss it in the trash when the new one shows up.

I sure hope that the new one has the ability to dim the screen a lot more when driving at night. My gen 1 is so bright I have to turn the screen off at night. Couldn't understand why there were 3 brightness setting in Day mode, but none in night mode (night brightness set to minimum in settings)

I would bet you'd be able to get something for it on ebay.

I'm still thinking about it, but leaning towards no. First is that as far as I know, these tablets are not bug free yet, and their customer service hasn't improved. Maybe I'll get lucky and get a smooth install, but not sure I want to go through that again.

The second is I've only had my unit about a year and half. I really should get more run on it before trading it in on what appears to be overall a minor upgrade. It would make more sense to hold out another year or so for and android 11 model or something.

Related to that, I want to see what the Gen 3 Raptors look like to get an idea of how long I will keep my Gen 2. Most likely, several more years, but if I tentatively plan on trading in a year or so from now, best to stop upgrades now.

Perhaps most importantly, I don't feel good about buying Chinese products right now.

That would be nice. That's been bothering me a bit too lately.

I might just have to get the Morimoto XB (2nd gen) headlights to try to overpower the screen brightness at night. Not planning on new truck for a few years as I'm expecting a new C8 vette delivery in June. My Gen 1 Phoenix unit top right "open window selection" button does nothing and will not update any apps. Anyone know how to fix the updating issue on a gen 1 unit?

Hey guys, just received a replacement px6 from Phoenix. Old one was android 8.1 this one is android 9. I can't get the sync3 to show, says no input, no backup camera and I have manual and it has onscreen hvac controls. Its already set to f150lo.

I can't for the hell find any settings or videos tonight for the 2019 f150 manual settings.

Any help?

Pull it apart and reconnect and reseat all of your connections. Also make sure the video cable is properly seated from the sync 3 module to the tablet.
