GEN 2 KO2 wet roads?

I had the same issue and I'm not a fan of the ko2. I picked up a set of atturo trail blade xts and they are a little noisy but I like them so much better than those bfgs...better pricing too!

I’d argue that one. The tires are good, but most All Terrains that do not feature aggressive siping are poor in wet conditions. This combined with the light rear end of the truck makes for a poor combination.

Not all ATs are equal. You just need to have the right ones for your terrain/environmental conditions. Siping and water channels are key.

I’m on my second day set of KO 2’s.
46000 miles total on truck and I replaced the original set at 27k.
The tire is fine in all conditions until they get about 20 or so thousand on them and then they are terrible in wet.
The tire gets harder as you ware it down.
Then grip starts to fade.
Will be putting another set on soon.
Truck will be 2 years old in February.

What are you running for pressure front and back? I found the factory spec on the door to be high for me and run 32/33 with much improved ride, handling, and performance. Though, KA02, are not the best in wet weather but it did improve. Be warned, cold days will probably get a TPMS warning until your tires warm up and increase pressure. Good luck.
I would not recommend this. Minimum inflation pressure these are rated for is 35psi cold I believe.

I find the K02s excellent in dry, cold, and wet conditions.
I run 38 psi all around and always drive in Sport mode.
I have 21k on the original set and so far, so good.
If they drop off, I will replace with the same.
Unless I find some real test results to the contrary.

Tire opinions are like oil opinions. Mostly uninformed and mostly subjective. Powerful truck+light rear end=slippery when wet regarless of tire. Pressure can impact your result. Nothing more to be said really.

While I agree, I'd like to think I have a good opinion, haha! I've driven in rain all of my life, including so hard that I couldn't see the car in the lane next to me—thanks Florida. I've been pleasantly surprised by the wet performance of the Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus set that came with my truck. I was considering KO2s when I need to swap as I like the look but I might just continue with these. They even did an ok job on ice up in the smokies last week. I feel pretty confident in these tires. My spare still looks to be a KO2, and that tread pattern looks like it'd be worse in wet for sure. After a quick Google, the Pirelli's look to be about $200 cheaper for a set too.

Most of my driving down here is 2H as I've driven these roads for 20 years. I did try out Mud/Rain mode when I first drove my truck in the rain as I mainly came from driving cars and my wife's Grand Cherokee but I didn't think it was necessary and I didn't like the performance drop. I don't always drive my Raptor like I drove my Z, but I'm more confident in its ability in the rain. I was on a roadtrip last week in NC mostly and I preferred 4A in the rain, but I used 2H too. I didn't have traction issues with either.

I'm around 35 psi.

So I'd say they're another set worth investigation. As always YMMV.

Does anyone have any comments on running the Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3 hybrid tires? This tire has got my attention as a viable option to consider when my KO2s need replacement.
