Local british columbia raptors

I am thinking of doing a winter fun drive somewhere in the lower main land/coquihalla hwy area and was curious to see if any other Raptor owners are up for it as well.

Coldwater rd, boss lake, coalmont rd, Harrison lake are some areas I was thinking of going to again.

sounds like a fun idea, however we have a little group of off roaders, raptors and jeeps, we drove up mamquam to indian arm through snow, jeep broke down, 3 tow companies couldn’t make it through the snow and after weeks $6600 was just paid for a helicopter recovery, we just bought zoleos and are a bit wary of snow now, we also got stuck for 4 1/2 hrs on sylvester road and encountered abandoned vehicles on skookum power road, i’m sure you’re experienced and already know how treacherous snow and especially melting snow are

Oh jeez now that sounds like a very interesting trip indeed. I've heard that road can be quite the obstacle in the winter with the snow that area gets. I don't get to out of hands when dealing with the snow, it can be very unpredictable. The areas I was thinking are more main fsr roads and side spots to the areas lakes and such. Nothing wild but can be a fun time.
Yeah Sylvester is a go to for me since I'm in Pitt Meadows. But yes you do not ever underestimate BC's conditions it will bite you hard on the ass.

I've been 4x4ng on the coast mostly, but also spent some years in the interior around Penticton and Quesnel mostly. But all over the province too. Being in forestry, we drove F150s mostly, but some dirty Dodge's too. Not too many Chevs.

On the coast the winter driving can be a handful for sure. Steep roads, steep drop offs, lots of snow, washouts, blowdown, rock slides and so on.

I'm in Victoria and used to get to Vanc regularly, but Covid has crimped those travels. Looking forward to getting some trips over to the mainland this summer and fall.
