Hey everyone. Sorry if this has been brought up but I couldn’t find anything that was similar in the search.
I have 2017 well 3 weeks ago my dealer did a full service. Last weekend on a long drive it made a clunk sound, felt like I rear ended a car. And start to slip in gear and occasionally jam into gear really hard. The dash was showing I was in 1st gear doing 70 mph, Smoke poured out the back end and the bottom of the truck was covered in transmission fluid. Just picked the truck up 2 days ago and after driving for an hour it’s doing the samething, slipping and jamming into gear. If I stop for 20 min it will then drive with no problems for a period of time then act up again. Fluid all over the bottom again definitely not as much as last time. Well when I picked it up 2 days ago they said when they serviced it they over filled it. But why is it happening again? Any one have similar issues and can help point me in the right direction as ford can’t do much unless they can get the truck to Duplicate the issue while on the test drive and it seems to only happen after the hour or so drive time.

So the dealer changed your transmission fluid, and now it’s venting when it gets hot? Did they change the filter as well?

Yes exactly. And when it hot it slips and jerks into gear. Receipt states a new filter

Definitely a workmanship issue. Can you get it to act up while you're near the dealer so you can demonstrate it for them? If you've already been there once, they should send a tech or Shop Foreman out to ride with you so you can demonstrate the issue.

After it happen the first time I was literally around the corner and went right to the dealership. By time I explained it to my advisor he said let’s go drive it and it would not happen during our test drive.

last night the 2nd time it started to act up I stopped for a soda maybe 5 min and after it drove good for a short period of time before it started to act up again.

FordTechOne, Could he Video it with his cell phone and show it to the dealer?

He could, but it sounds like they're not interested. Since it only happened after they serviced it, they should be the ones driving it around to verify the concern.

I do have multi videos. You do see the RPM gauge jumping around but you do not see or hear it jam into gear. You also don’t get a feel for the slipping.

70mph crushing it randomly starts slipping. If I give it any gas from cruising at 70 it slips worse and jams into gear hard.
If it’s acting up and I’m starting from a stop ever few gears seep to slip a little. It noting like 10th gear slips and jaming into gear.

Last night when it happens for the second time. Or first time again since picking it up it was 55* out side and I noticed the digital engine temperature gauge was coming on and off that actually shows the numeric temperature. Seems like the trans is not performing and the engine is struggling to maintain the speed limit?
