I recommend caution when considering the Ranger. I was in the showroom of my local Ford dealership a month or so ago and had the opportunity to look the new Ranger over very thoroughly. Aside from the EB-type power plant, I noticed something that took even a salesman by surprise. I had the hood up and actually crawled under the truck, and of course the salesman was interested in helping me.I asked him where the oil filter was, because after a rather comprehensive search for the thing I couldn't find it. He looked under the hood himself, couldn't find it either, and then took out his phone. I don't know what kind of ap he used, but in a few minutes he said, "It's in here," and stooped down to look past the driver-side front tire into the wheel well. We looked and looked, and finally we were able to barely see a hint of an oil filter. No way to get a hand or a tool on it without pulling the front left tire and pulling the plastic pins that secure the rubber wheel well liner. If you think that jacking up a 4x4 truck and pulling a front tire to change the motor oil is indicative of a good design, the Ranger is just the truck for you!

Hahahaha! I am sure that is true. I wish I was on this forum then to see the shock and disgust.
No, no, it's brilliant. You're supposed to rotate the tires every time you change oil. This gets you partway there for free. You'll be thanking Ford every time you change the oil ... well, you would if "thank you" started with an "F".

If I didn't have a Raptor I'd have a Colorado ZR2 Bison. But all options other than the Raptor are stupid and lame so I don't.

I had one of the early GMC Canyon models with the 5-cylindar 3.5L engine before I got my Raptor. Drove it over 100,000 miles with no issues whatsoever. The only recall during my ownership had to do with the safety belts.

Agree. And I'll say, since I own both, that my Gladiator sucketh no ass. And if it does, perhaps I like my ass sucked. Who knew?

Both of my previous Tacoma's and Tundra were dang near bulletproof and definitely not a Prius...
