You've got another truck, you don't drive much, you could pull out $20k in uncertain times, I say go for it. Invest the money, drive your other truck, and don't look back. Buying another vehicle? Why would you? You'll pay tags, insurance, depreciation, maintenance on two vehicles when you barely drive one. If you're worried about money, that's a slam dunk.

Gen 2 values will continue to rise because they are not making them anymore! Several local dealers went from 5k off 3 months ago to msrp now

I got a call today of one the car buying services that I have done with in the past. They made me a offer on my 20 raptor 800a truck for 60k. I bought it September for 58k out the door. I’m temped.

If that’s the purchase offer, I wonder what the trade offer would be. And if you’re thinking of the Gen 3 raptor (which looks awesome, especially the interior), you might be better off trading your 20 on that versus selling your 20 and having nothing to trade on the Gen 3 - the tax benefit of trading in a high value car is way better than selling that car and using the cash for a down payment.

Trade it for a new GT500. I already saw one at my local dealer sell for MSRP. Not a bad daily since you already have a truck. I'd personally move to an F250.

Yea, I’ve seen and thought about the same thing. I was curious how the GT500 would hold its value over the next year—especially if you can get one at MSRP.

You are tight that they are not making anymore Gen2s. I think the point might be that the Gen3 will have a few more attractive options that would make it instantly more desirable than a Gen 2. The Gen1 will always be a value machine though. Those were tanks.

I would agree with this - get in a super duty (lease), and wait for the gen3... or go TRX. All good options to get the most out of the Gen2 before it loses more value.

Buying at MSRP is fine, but don't plan on that increasing in value anytime soon. These $90k - $100k cars will be in the $60k - $70k range over the next 2-3yrs.
