Thanks for the nice outline about what you have to offer for reverse light kits.

Tried to purchase a set but your coupon code did not work.

Coupon codes do not work on Baja Designs products. PM us for pricing please.

I bought a pair of the S2 lights and they work great. One issue though. When I got them installed the shop said that I could not turn on the upfitter switch and put in reverse if the lights were hooked up both ways. Said it would burn a fuse, so I just left it for upfitter switch.

With a regular wiring harness that is correct. That is why our harness is specifically designed for both auto activation from the reverse lights OR your upfitters. We've built our harness to PREVENT back-feeding. So if you have our harness then the shop was wrong that installed it (they most likely did not realize our harness has built in diodes to prevent back feeding the factory reverse lights)

I got the S1 lights and really glad I did as they are very bright, I used a separate switch so that i could use them alone for things like hooking up trailers etc .
The S1 lights have been great and I really like the smaller size.

Thanks for the info. I see now where I messed up. In the future, I will by the stuff that I want and then get somebody to install it instead of them getting it for me. But again, I do like the lights. I saw your YouTube video on those Cree lights for the pillar mounts that you can hook up directly to the battery and then use a remote to turn them on if you don’t want to use a upfitter switch. They looked pretty powerful for the money. I may be getting with you soon to purchase them.

I just installed an S1 reverse kit using your upfitter harness today. Since I tapped the trailer harness for the reverse circuit I had enough length with your harness to cut the weather pack connector off your upfitter harness and completely omitt the BD harness that came with the kit. I could feel the bump in your harness that was about 18" up from the connector and assume this was a diode to prevent back-feeding.

Am I still protected from overloading the lights if I get into a situation where the truck is in reverse and the upfitter switch is on or did I screw up?

Thanks

I can't say for certain. I don't know where you cut the wire off to be honest. You might be OK if you left the diode in place though.

I installed my S2 reverse light kit with upfitter harness. I called and talked to Adam about my upfitter switch not working. He quickly diagnosed I hooked up to the pass-thru wire instead. Fixed it and now lots of light when backing up or when I flip the switch. This is a nice upgrade.

Does anyone know if when installing the s2 kit you need the included spacer behind the bracket? I'm asking because I don't have the kit and the spacers are super expensive.

Has anyone found something to use as a spacer other than the ones that would come with the kit if they are indeed needed?

Thanks.

Yes you need the spacer so that the S2 Bracket has something behind it. Otherwise it's not going to sit properly.
