I just took my 2019 with 17,000 miles (changed my oil with amsoil signature every 4000 miles) to the shop for the rattle that only happens when the motor has sat for several hours. It would rattle like a diesel for only a few seconds and go away.
The report back was that the cam phasers will be replaced. No loss of power or code popping up, just the rattle.

So can someone help me out...is this the dreaded telltale sound?

Doesn’t sound like it to me, if a phaser is faulty it quiets down immediately after it receives oil pressure. That sounds like a normal engine start.

My truck definitely never sounded like that in the previous 21,000 miles. These may not be the best examples. You don't hear a "ticking, tapping, or rattle type noise"? Here is another audio clip recorded under the hood tonight. Thanks for your time to consider what this noise is...I appreciate it:

Yes, that video is more definitive of a phaser not locking on shutdown.

This is certainly a much more definitive sounding clip. Sounds like the phasers.
