The center light is a "cargo" and acts like your old cargo light did. Open doors/lock/unlock truck. If you go into reverse and it activates then you have the basic w/reverse harness so it also does that.

But your ambers turning on... not supposed to. As those are supposed to go to upfitters (or share the same upfitter).


You mentioned the "flasher" so that tells me maybe you have the stop/tail/turn harness (which has that strobe control module). IN that case the outter lights are supposed to act as turn signals. Only one side should activate when a turn signal is on.

They should not be on unless you activate them (via switch or turns), as theyll be distracting to other drivers while you are on the road.

Yes I've got the stop/tail/turn harness. I didn't wire up the outside Amber's to turn signals as they would be too bright. The yellow and blue wires are connected to my aux 3 and aux 4 switches. But the red is to the battery.

I'm assuming the red needs to go to a powered switch that I can turn on and off so they aren't on while driving at night?

I wish I knew. Honestly im not too familiar with the wiring of the strobe module. Did you use the instructions on their site by chance?

I did. However they don't say much on where to send each wire based on situation. It says the red can be sent to a switch or 12v switch.

Has anyone flipped the functionality of the 2 outer lights and the center light?

Just based on my typical use case and driving situations I feel like I'd get more value out of 1 amber dust light and 2 general area lights. Especially if the two outer ones have enough spread to light towards the sides a bit. For example, I am much more often setting up camp in the dark or working out of the bed at night than I am blasting down a super dusty trail with traffic behind me.

So something like:
Center: S2 Sport, Amber, Driving Combo(?)
Left/Right: S2 Sport, White, Flood or Wide Cornering(?)

Would this be too risky with the wiring? Which pattern would be best on the outer ones to maximize lateral spread?

Some extra context: I actually found this product looking for an antenna mount. Lower on my priority list is general rear/lateral lighting. And even further down the priority list is rear amber dust light. I know I could probably maximize effectiveness of solutions by separating the problems. But if this one product can solve all three well enough that would be awesome.

In all honesty the way they handle the wiring harness you can basically do whatever you want with them. It's all how you want it to be.
