Anyone ever have issues with the parking/e-brake sticking? I use it every time out of habit, but the last few weeks it feels like the spring that retracts it is losing tension and not retracting it so I get the parking brake engaged light... even if the brake is disengaged.

Interested in what you find out. Have not had that issue in the raptor but my 2000 ranger has been having this problem for a while.

Yes, I have this issue bad. In fact I have to pull the release and put tow of my shoe under the e-brake pedal and lift up with my toe while I pull to get the brake fully disengaged. Still works and at this point I’ve gotten use to it. Will probably get it fixed eventually...

I'm thinking next service I may as well have them swap it out. If I get motivated I may do it myself, but like you said, I may just get used to it. I dont have to put my toe under it to keep from alarming, but sometimes over speed bumps it will flash again. I should just park without it, but growing up on manuals it feels wrong to park a car without the parking brake engaged.

Edit: just saw a youtube video of a guy who pulled the assembly and added a little spring to it, that may just be what I do. Even if a new assembly is only 100 bucks on fleabay.

check the cable running along side the drivers frame. second, check the cable where it goes into the wheel assembly.

I recently did my rear brakes and discovered all of my E-brake pads, came right off their shoes. I hadn’t used the emergency brake in that long.

Well I had my brakes done about 10k miles ago and I made sure the tech checked the brake shoes and he stated they were good. I mean when the brake is on, its on.
