I've used Meguiar's Natural Shine on my mats and seems to work pretty well without making the mats too slippery.

VRP advertises on their bottle that it dries without being slippery, and I've experienced that result using it on other trim pieces like the bed rails. For some reason, the rubber on the floor mats reacted differently. It's not the end of the world. It will be fine in a few days.

I also really like the factory floor mats. I've never seen a need to upgrade them.

Whether we admit it on the internet or not, we all make small, funny mistakes like this from time to time. And we all learn when something doesn't react the way we predicted. Everyone except me, I'm sure is what you meant! I was on my second story roof yesterday reattaching some slightly loose aluminum fascia with self tapping screws. It made total sense that I stuck a nearly full box of 1000 screws in my jacket pocket instead of just putting a dozen in my pocket. Then I got to watch them slide off my roof while I was working and have them explode on my patio. All planned of course. Super easy AND fun to pick up over 900 loose 1/2" self tapping screws that are scattered in the grass and on the patio.

Oh man...that sucks. If you are still working on it, you might be able to use a magnet like roofers use for cleanup?

I got good results on mine with chemical guys car wash (purple stuff) which I use in my soap dispenser on my pressure washer. I was worried at first since it does leave a waxy finish but it was ok. The second time I used it it looked great, kinda like your after pics but not as shiny. The first looked just like your before pics. Maybe just try what you first did to clean them like two months in a row, or however often you do stuff like that.

I also like the factory mats. And most of the factory truck tbh. Different isn’t always better, especially after 10 years.

Thanks, I'll try that. I usually use dish soap to clean the mats (not the paint, of course). Perhaps I just need to use a better car care product on them like you suggested.

I picked up by hand a few little piles that kind of stayed clumped, then I gave up and used a shop-vac with a 2" hose and it actually worked pretty good pulling them out of the grass, as long as you kept it vertical. At least I saved some. What a pain in the balls! I definitely learned a lesson. It's a constant battle keeping the fascia attached tightly because of how exposed I am to really frequent high winds. The boards actually vibrate a little when it's windy enough. Nails will be out in a few months, I use screws with some silicone dabbed on the tips now.



The wind comes out of the river valley and beats my place up pretty good. I'm completely open, it's great for the view, but bad with the winds. The direction of the picture is right where the prevailing winds come from.
