KHC top shock mount conversion

Is the ride height identical to stock? I'm on mid perch right now and I like the look

It can't be identical as the shock length is longer which changes the ride height. Also mid perch isn't the stock height on a Gen 1.

I assume your wondering if by doing this will you maintain your current mid perch look? Based off of Gen 2 stock ride height numbers id say no, you'll end up sitting at roughly 40 inches in the front. Youd need atleast the 1.5 collar on Gen 2 shocks to get back to mid perch #s.

The real benefit IMO is the ability to run larger Gen 2 aftermarket 3.0s.

I was just curious if the kit would put things close to stock, so then to get a mid perch look I would need collars or if the kit made it sit higher than stock. I'm assuming it would be about stock. Putting collars on before would just make things easier

This modification with Gen 2 coils would have the truck sit 1.5 inches taller than a stock Gen 1 Raptor on low perch.

It has nothing to do with the KHC coil bucket.. its the shock length itself on Gen 2s is physically longer than a Gen 1 Fox.

Yes adding collars would in essence return the truck to the mid perch height you want. But in reality that is a lot of time and money for looks.. at 500 for KHC buckets, Gen 2 Fox coils, collars and install youre nearly at the price of Gen 1 kings alone.

But Its worth it if you're after performance.

I don't see the point of this. The coil buckets are one of the strongest items on the Raptor: SVC, RPG, and so on has never seen a coil bucket fail. I don't know why you would want to cut a factory strong point just to run Gen 2 shocks. The factory Gen 2 shocks suck anyways from an off-road and dampening perspective when compared to a true 3.0 shock: KING, ICON, and so on. If you have a standard F150 (non-Raptor) I could understand doing this. But people put way too much emphasis on travel numbers. A Gen 1 KING or ICON 3.0 will outperform the Gen 2 OEM shocks all-day long.

I meant to document the Poverty-Runner build that I did on the 2011 shop truck, and didnt. I did cycle the suspension without springs and had a clean 13.5 inches droop to bump. No rubbing on 37's after pinch seam was cut out.

I tried the Eibach springs. Liked the look, didnt like the ride so they came out
