Please forgive me if this is a repeat post....I don't think it is....cause I have searched.
I have an Extra Set of OEM Fox Shocks I purchased to use when to swap out my current ones.

My question is Shock Rebuilding.
I've noticed alot of independent shops offering the service now vs sending back to FOX which is 180 miles away from me.

What's the difference in sending to Fox vs. an Independent shop BESIDES QUICK turn around time?
Sending to Fox.....what is all included in their service....that the Independent guys DON'T do ?
Sending to an Independent shop....what is all included in their service...that Better than Fox ?

Thanks in Advance for the replies....

If Fox is close by I would just take them there for rebuilding. Most rebuilders buy their kits to rebuild the shocks from Fox. Price might make a difference, IDK

here, on frf
if you send them back to fox they will rebuild to oem spec. all these other shops are offering different services. flutter stacks, schrader valves, and different valving. so depending on if you are happy with oem or if you want them slightly modded, you can make your descision based on that.

Arguably, a lot of people say the flutter stack is better for washboard roads and you can’t get that with Fox’s rebuilds

I looked for that same answer and the best I could come up with was Texas Shock Works outside of Waco, TX. I made an appointment with them, took it to them and was out of there in 4 hours. They took mine off, rebuilt them with installed Strader valves and put them back on. The price was $1,200. Everyone will send you replacements, charge you for a deposit and then when you take the shocks off and send them back to their shop. That process takes time and with my luck they will find something wrong with the ones you send back and deduct it from the deposit. No thanx.

I did some research and used Shocks by Hammer. I added the schrader valves for $25 per shock so I could add nitrogen later if needed. I sent pictures of my shocks to them so they knew what condition shocks to send me. They were able to send me a set that were completely rebuilt with a like new appearance. They provided me with great support during the install process as well. I highly recommend them and at $855 with round trip shipping, way cheaper than any other option.
