I had one of my fav local dealers....give me a disclaimer in an email how he doesn't recommend the work and how it effects the extended warranty on Molded Lead Frame.

I was like wutever....are u refusing my $ for preventative maintenance?

Finished mine fairly recently. Took a few hours. Just pay attention and you can definitely do it. I do recommend getting some transmission grease/lube for job as recommended in the video linked earlier. Hardest part for me was getting the fluid level back to spec once it was all put together. If you get it done by tech, you need to check the fluid level regardless when you get it back.

Like Ruckus, I just did mine. A bit messy but follow the directions and tips from fordtechmakuloco and you'll be fine. Getting the level right is a pain, checking levels in a tight space with a cat right there is a hassle. Totally doable. Take your time, watch those videos several times, get the assembly lube. Didn't see if you mentioned you were getting a new passthrough also but I would. Goofy torx size needed on the valve body also, t27 if I remember correctly...

Completed Today
-updated Molded Lead Frame
-pump pass seal
-trans filter
-valve body connector
-new gasket
-amsoil ATF (9 quarts used)

Dealer says they only used 9 quarts and that its not good to do a Complete Flush. Does that sound right? Can anyone confirm?

No metal particles found on the magnet upon the oil pan being taken apart

It sounds a little light on fluid, not sure though. I’m getting the exact same work done at my local Ford when the valve body comes in next week. All my parts cost $1325, not including installation and new fluid.

After watching some YouTube videos I think that's about right.
That sucks it's not easy to access the dipstick.

I will do the front/ rear differential and transfer case in 9k miles when it hits 100k on the Odometer.

I will have them check the Trans fluid level again while it's in the shop.

That sucks they make the dipstick convenient to access under the hood
