I spoke with a an agent at Ford's Customer Care on Monday about this issue and she said she would try to contact the dealership and speak to them and then call me back, now it's Wednesday and I haven't heard from her yet. She didn't propose any sort of solution she only took down my information and said she would look into it. I told her they need to remove the rear window and reinstall it properly.

Now that's quality work right there, why didn't they just use a roll of duck tape if they thought this was acceptable
Besides the ****** look, its got to be a structural and safety consideration, this glass is secured with some sort of polyurethane I'm guessing to give rigidity to the glass, if it wasn't attached properly at the factory (leaking), then what are they even thinking when they decide to use household silicone in its place. 100% this needs to be remedied, properly. They should be embarrassed.

So Ford Customer Care finally got back to me today and said that since the dealership (Beach Ford) refuses to adequately fix the rear window that they siliconed.... Ford is offering me the Ford "Premium Care Plan". Basically it's an extended warranty that I'm not really familiar with but the customer service rep said that this will cover "over a thousand components" for up to 5 years or 75k miles. So basically this just covers the 2 years or 39k miles past the manufacturer's warranty. Is this a fair deal? I'm not sure I'm satisfied with this as a resolution.

Sounds like the rep may not understand the fact that the vehicle was improperly repaired and the correct repair procedure needs to be performed. The extended warranty is nice but that’s not going to get your window properly repaired. Have you asked to have it repaired at a dealer that will agree to do it properly? They can often coordinate that for you.

That sounds great for all of your trouble, but like @FordTechOne said, what about getting it fixed right?

Thanvks. I'll ask to see if another dealership can do the repair. Otherwise I guess I'll have to start emailing Ford Execs to see if they can intercede.

I think some in the past may have gotten results by posting on Fords Twitter and/or Facebook page.

It would probably help to include all details.
