Performance after battery disconnect

This may be an odd question and just my imagination..... On three different occasions, my truck seemed to perform remarkably better after I disconnected and reconnected the battery. When I test drove the truck during purchase it ran well and I was okay with the performance. Later I added some mods which required that the battery be disconnected. When I next drove the truck it performed much better. On two more occasions, most recently last week when the radio froze and I disconnected the battery, the truck ran great. It was a difference between turning a corner and now at the same corner, the tires were chirping with the same throttle input.

I know the Allison transmission in my motor home actually learns your driving characteristics and adjusts.

So......do these things build a memory. I typically drive in NORMAL mode with a lot of around town driving. Any thoughts....or am I just imagining this?

What Octane gas do you run?

91 octane all the time.

If your radio freezes up. Hold the audio power button and the right arrow and it will do a soft reset.

91 is not 93....so yes.....your truck is being detuned. When you do a hard reset, all the "learned" values reset. The detune from cheap gas is not instantaneously...it can take 20-50 miles, longer if you never "floor it" and get the anti knock to kick in.

Same with how the trans adapts to how you drive and change show it shifts.

I just had to do that today! It froze with a weird version of the Nav screen on it.

It could also be colder air outside, especially with turbos. I know sport mode is much more sporty now that it’s not 90 this week.
