I’m sure they all had avalanche gear and you guys pulled the clutch belt before towing?

did you have a backup plan with the truck in case it got stuck? Looks like a blast but I’d want two trucks for peace of mind

I’m sure they didn’t do anything correct to get it ready to be towed. They were however able to fire it up and ride it around when they got back. Who knows what damage they did.

Plan B was my trusty snow shovel and some traction boards. I used the traction boards once when towing the snowmobile made my back end slide uncomfortably close to the edge. They worked perfect. Put them both on my driver’s side with my diff locked and climbed straight back onto the trail.

I used my shovel once when the going got tough but found that more throttle and waiting for the front to lock up worked better.

Wow! What a great day! Those boys hopefully learned a lesson with out to much suffering. I tend to need some suffering to learn my lessons!

I Really wish there was some thick chains with thin side walls that I could put on my front tires! First learned my big chains wouldn’t fit as I laid in a gumbo mud road 50 miles from a paved road in the snow. See I told you I must suffer to learn lessons! PUT ON CHAINS ONCE BEFORE NEEDING!

What tire chains are you using?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I got them from etrailer. They seem decent. Probably a letter more ice oriented with some sharpened parts than I need.

1 [sea]titan Chain Wide Chains-reinforced V-bar Links-1 Pair 1 0
1 [sea]titan Chain Multi-arm Rubber Adjuster - Light Trucks - 1 0

First time putting them on, probably took my about an hour of laying in the snow. This pic was one of my first attempts

NICELY DONE!
I've spent a large part of my life doing search and rescue, caring about others well being before my own, to a fault.
However comma, caring and actually doing something about it takes effort and is a gift. (and Biblical) Living in AK, SD and The Mountains in Northern Japan I've plowed my share of the white stuff, but studded snow tires are
THEBomb.com
!
N. Japan requires them from Nov-Apr. That said I pulled many stranded locals out of the goo in my 4WD Hilux Turbo Diesel in Japan and myTundra in AK. Both had aftermarket winches and I carried chains, a hand saw and first aid, Down jacket, hand warmers, 50lb bag of sand in the bed and road signal flares always.
Wished I'd had the Raptor way back when but like cellphones and Twitter, they didn't exist. Good news is my bulletproof Toyota's with studs got the job done.
BTW...
Here's some cool aftermarket Raptor bumpers IMHO:

Again, great job...:)

I once help jump start a vehicle in the shopping mall parking lot!!! That's as far as I go. No snow in the Bay Area. The only snow here is what they sell at some corner.

Threw the clips together.

sorry for the ****** music. Couldn’t figure out how to change it on iMovie for iPhone.
Awesome video, but I'm not excepting your apology for the revolting music, I think I'm in need of medical attention after listening to that. lol

Finally discovered how to fix it! New video posted. Over the coming weeks and months I shall setup a fund for the medical expenses of those who have lasting negative consequences, such as PTSD.
