Same here. I was just wondering when it double honked.

It always gets me when I climb out of the truck with the key in my pocket. With the ign on/engine running (ie refueling on hot TX day with Espoza Loco riding shotgun and AC on)

Honk Honk
... #%*€%?!
Ugh..
Hey anybody bought the 4D Tech plug in to fix this?
:)

I have the plug in Auto Start Stop Eliminator also. Just plug into the OBDII port and you're done. I like that if I'm ever stuck in a long line of stop and go traffic I can just turn it back on if I want to.

I actually dont mind the start stop feature. If I want to drive a bit harder then I throw it into sport or baja if I'm off road. These modes disable start stop feature when driving anyways. The feature I find most annoying is the double honk when the engine is running. I used forscan to remove this feature and I love my truck now in every way.

For me the negligible gain in mpg isn't worth the damage it does to the engine.

Forscan with the obd port is about the same price and you get a lot more features. So if you’re moderately technically inclined it’s better bang for the buck. I think I changed 12 features.

The timing of the double honk is, coincidentally, the exact duration it takes for you to realize you’ve left the vehicle with keys attached when you close the door to open your daughter’s door in the car line at school.

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, you get Forscanned.

Auto-start stop doesn’t bother me. If I know I might have to go quickly, I just lift off the brake slightly or throw it into Sport. Even in Florida summer it’s been fine since it keeps the cool air circulating. Someone had already removed it on my dad’s Raptor which was perfect since he didn’t want it but I left it on on mine.

Because the Ford engineers never took into consideration if auto stop/start was safe for the engine before implementing it back in 2017.

Ford only cares about meeting fuel economy standards and the engine making it until it's out of warranty. Obviously an engine is going to see more wear with the stop/start constantly on.
