Your missing my point, stop reading your own thoughts to what I state.

The Gen 2 has upgraded parts right, it should be better.
Hahaha, I feel like I am on an episode of punk. You can't be this naive. No matter how you are trying to spin it you are trying to compare a modded gen 1 to a stock gen 2 . No the Gen 2 does not have " upgraded parts" it has stock parts , just like your Gen 1 did before you added your SC.

It sounds like you're saying that you'd rather keep your truck then get a Gen 2, and that makes perfect sense. It sounds like you would also rather buy a new Gen 1 at $50k then a Gen 2 at $75k, and that makes sense to....whatever the numbers happen to be as long at the Gen 1 is significantly cheaper than the Gen 2. The whole point of bringing up inflation is that the Gen 1 and Gen 2 prices would be about the same, but if that seems irrelevant to you, ok then.

I understand inflation. I maxed my GEN1 with every single option there was back in 2014. The MSRP was $59,975. Using inflation in 2020 dollars, that would be $66,150.

A fully loaded GEN2 with every possible option that I have seen is slightly over $78k. So it is not “about” the same. Granted for that $12k more, you have newer tech and upgraded options that wasn’t available in 2014. So the question is if $12k more worth it for the changes. It’s obvious that the GEN2 is far better and for the majority that extra money is well worth spending to have the honor to drive a raptor. So the price is NOT the same but for the extra cost, its so much worth it.

Your being rude, but ok.

So the Gen 2s upgraded Fox Shox, 10 speed tranny are not upgrades from the Gen 1?

Man you Gen 2 fan boys are sensitive. LOL

It’s only reasonable to compare the vehicles option for option. For your $66k equivalent, you can get a brand new Gen 2 with the same, or additional, equipment and technology. The a additional $11k for a fully loaded model includes features that were never available on a Gen 1, so it’s irrelevant when making the comparison.

No, you’re just being ignorant and you’re misinformed. We might have better luck explaining basic concepts to a 3 year old than to you, who can’t comprehend things that most people learned in high school.

You use the term “upgrades” as if they’re aftermarket; the Gen 2 has improved powertrain, suspension, and equipment from the factory compared to what the Gen 1 had from the factory.

LMAF, Fox Shox are built by Ford, OK.
And going from 2.5 to 3.0 is not an upgrade? OK

Same can be said about your "improved" word.

My apologies, you are right . My previous post calling you naive was rude and I will do better with having this discussion with you

You are misusing the term upgraded. Upgraded from the previous generation is completely different then an aftermarket upgrade on a stock vehicle. Surely you have to understand there is a difference....

I did not actually run the numbers myself, assuming that inflation numbers provided were accurate. Seems like yours are about right for the dollars given.

I think it' gets muddier when you compare stock values with maxed out options. Can you really add CF package to the Gen2 when it's not even an option on the Gen 1? I would prefer a comparison with options taken off, since the value comparisons center around engine, frame, and suspension and those are not options. It's muddy regardless though, so what have you. I agree with you, or disagree...not sure what it is at this point.

In regardless to the original point of this thread, doesn't matter. Doesn't even matter in current day comparison shopping since you can only buy used gen 1 vs new/used gen 2.

What aftermarket upgrade are you talking about.

Both Gens have Fox Shox, the Gen 1 has 2.5 and the Gen 2 has the 3.0, this is not an upgrade?
Adding a extra 1" in travel is an improvement.

The Gen 1 has a 6 speed tranny the Gen 2 has a 10, either way you call it, improved or upgrade, it's an upgrade.
