Surprising issue after Icon leaf springs install

I'll admit, on the u-bolts I did go a little light on the torque. The instruction called for 145 ft-lb and I put only 125 ft-lb because of the possibility of swapping the leaf configuration to option 2 in the next few months. Other than that I torqued the rear bushing and shackle to 90 ft-lb and the front bushing to 185 ft-lb.

I did the Icon bump stop extensions with factory bump pads.
Ok so it’s not the typical bump stop clank then.

looking at the icon page the leaf seems to have the same gap in the leaf strap, this seems bizarre to me

I’m sure you did, but are they installed in the correct orientation?

Sorry just running trough all possibilities..

Yeah I crank those things down. I thought they were torque to yield but maybe changed on the gen2. Either way I’d at least bring them to spec

I questioned the orientation before the install and the bushings are different diameter. To verify I tried pushing the big (front) bolt through both bushings and it would only fit one.

I think I should revisit everything with the torque wrench tomorrow. Looking back when I torqued the ubolt nuts I didnt get to picky about criss-crossing for even force distribution. Would it hurt to loosen those and start again?

I mean in a perfect world you would have put on new u bolts torqued to yield and not touched them again. But undoing them and potentially correcting a torquing issue would def be preferred over worrying about bolt integrity

Put some grease at full droop between the leaf packs and the clamps. Torque to spec always as Porter says.

Spend this evening meticulously re-torquing the ubolts. Also sprayed as much lube in between the leafs as I could. Still making the noise unfortunately. Next I'll re-torque the front and rear bushings. Speaking of bushings...those came preinstalled onto the springs...should I have removed and then greased the bushings? That Amsoil MP HD is kinda sticky and I got a lot of it around those bushings. IDK...

Where did you get these torque specs? From ICON instructions on the shackles and front bushing?
