The "ride off road" is entirely subjective. The professional reviews all disagree. As far as power, 40HP is not "barely a butt dyno", it's quite a significant difference. The 80 lb-ft of torque even more so. The Gen 2 runs 0-60 in the low 5 second range, while the Gen 1 even with the 6.2 is in the 7+ second range. A difference of 2+ seconds in 0-60 is an eternity. Complaining how the 10R shifts only exemplifies your biased opinion; it shifts faster than the 6R80 and with less parasitic losses.

So the rear end of the lighter, more powerful truck with 80 lb-ft more torque is more susceptible to oversteer around corners? You don't say...

Unlike the Gen 1, the Gen 2 has 4WD Auto, which all but eliminates that concern.

So spending $7,000 in unproven aftermarket upgrades to make a vehicle "better" than the new factory engineered model is your justification? When adjusted for inflation, the Gen 1 and Gen 2 cost the same. So you're simply admitting that the Gen 1 needs $7,000 to even try and compete with the Gen 2.

What are you expecting? The 2019+ is the most capable Raptor ever built; the Gen 3 will simply build on the same engineering principles and design.
Your a funny one, 40 HP is meaningless in such a heavy truck, now 80 ft-lbs. of torque, that you may feel.
But I didn't feel it when I test drove the Gen 2, I was actually quite disappointed.
But I was disappointed with the stock 6.2L too, that's why put on a Whipple.
I can see why Gen 2 owners are spending Thousands of dollars to upgrade, intercooler, turbos, down pipes, cat backs, air intake tubes, Tunes.

And you need to stop drinking your Kool-Aid, he's putting the 7K in the Gen 2 to make it better and ride like the Gen 1 used to.
The main complaint on the forum for the Gen 2 is the rear benign unstable and jittering around corners.
Ford stock springs SUCK, Gen 1 or Gen 2

I'm sure when the Gen 3 comes out, better progressive higher quality rears springs will be needed.

Hopefully, the Gen 4 will have 4 wheel independent suspension.
Like the old and new Hummer EV

And, your inflation theory only works for you, the value of my $50,000 hasn't changed much in 10 years.
So you can stop saying they cost the same.

I think people confuse opinion with actual facts. There could be an opinion that a GEN 1 is better than a GEN 2 but all actual facts prove those opinions wrong.

Now back to opinion, you said depending on what you use her for so I ask you, in what situation is a gen 1 better than a gen 2?

Maldonado I don’t think we need to wait til the Gen 3 comes out to know it will be better than a Gen 2 . It comes with the territory

Whatever gets you hard at night buddy

Jesus dude, I wasn’t even responding to your post. It’s was just my opinion. I get it, you are a GEN2 fanboy and after all your hard work of correcting my ways, I am now converted. God bless you.

Yes stock for stock the GEN2 is a better truck than the GEN1, in every possible way, even the floor mats are better. I mean come on, that pig of an 6.2 engine compared to the turbo high performance one, no comparison. And that tranny, I mean 4 more gears, who are we kidding here, more is better, well except for cylinders. The GEN1 is absolute dog shit in comparison in every aspect, I couldn’t agree more with you. I cannot even believe that I once sat in one and smiled. I feel ashamed.

So there, I hope you can gloat on that. I don’t know how you have so much time to chat on FRF, don’t you have some cam phasers in the shop to work on?

Now I wouldn't go that far left, is the stock Gen 2 better than the stock Gen 1? I would hope so, for $19,000 more (with as close to the same options, like Nav and Sunroof), it better be.
And knowing I still would have to upgrade things to get more power, I couldn't justify the decision to up to a newer Raptor.
I also didn't like the shifting and hunting but I know a Tune would correct that.
I still like my upgraded Gen 1 more, even though it was 8 years old at the time.
And honestly and I'm sorry Gen 2 fans, the EB sounds like,...well I'm not going to say it.
That's why I left the Gen 2 at the dealer.

You can't claim that mods to gain more HP in the Gen2 are done as a way to match the power on the Gen1, since the Gen2 already has more power. That doesn't make any sense. People are upgrading intercooler, turbos, and tunes that use these on the Gen2 because it can be done. They are not doing that on the Gen1 since it doesn't have an intercooler, turbos to upgrade.

Of course inflation matters. The point is that if the Gen1 was sold new today, the MSRP would not be $50k, it would be around the same price as the Gen 2. Likewise, if the Gen 2 was sold in 2010-2014 when the Gen 1 were out, it's MSRP would be around $50k. Any price comparison between two products sold at different times needs to factor in inflation to be accurate. That's not to say that you can't prefer the Gen 1 or a Gen 2. It also is very true that the Gen 1 you own is worth more to you than a new Gen 2. And you probably get a used Gen1 for better value than a new or used Gen2.

Way to overreact and make a fool of yourself. I'm not a "Gen 2 fanboy", but there is a common trend on this forum of confusing opinions with the facts. You can like the Gen 1 better, but the facts are that the Gen 2 outperforms it in every single way. Chances are the Gen 3 will outperform the Gen 2 as well. See how that works? It's called progress. I have plenty of time to chat on FRF because the cam phaser issue is blown out of proportion by sasquatches like yourself, who will say anything to bash the newer, better performing model. I've never seen a forum so divided between 2 generations of a vehicle; the amount of misinformation is incredible.

I don't know why these concepts are so difficult for him to understand. Anyone that claims "inflation doesn't matter" when comparing the prices between vehicles of different years needs to go back to high school, that is the most ridiculous and ignorant thing I've seen in this entire thread.

How many times do you need to regurgitate the same misinformation...you argue in circles. Its already been established that the Gen 2 SuperCab costs within $500 of your Gen 1 SuperCab when adjusted for inflation. Your claims of $20,000 are ridiculous and entirely fabricated, do you not understand how inflation works?

And of course you bring up the EcoBoost "sound", is that all you have to grasp on to? That's a non-starter. Give it a rest guy, we get that you're a Gen 1 fanboy, but stop confusing your opinion with the facts. Everything you've claimed has proven to be misleading or downright wrong.
