Best retractable tonneau cover

I've read through most of the threads on here regarding covers and what has worked great for others but I'm def still on the fence.

I'm looking at the retractable options like from Retrax as I plan on putting a rack above and tent, gear, etc.

Besides retrax what are the other options that are out there. Something that has the same capabilities as the Retraxpro XR.

I've also seen the offering from Paragon that seems promising.

So thoughts? Ideas?

Well after doing a bit of research, comparing prices, features, what I need, etc I went with a Retraxpro XR.

Was going to chime in with RollNlock..love mine. Im sure you will be happy with the retrax

Retrax

I have used my Retrax since 2015 on three different F-150s. The benefits include it can be set to any locking point so that items can be "pinched" with the tailgate closed. It's very handy for plywood or 2x4s. Many bed covers do not offer the ability to lock at any point. The actual keyed lock on my Retrax isn't great because it can be pushed open with a medium amount of pressure. Despite being locked it will still slide open. I do use it still when I have valuable items in the bed of my truck. I do also keep traction boards, a shovel and an axe, which have all remained secured under the cover. The other downside to the Retrax is that it uses up 11-inches of bed space. It is fairly water tight. With heavy rain or snow I often find a little bit of water in the bed but it's minimal. If I'm carrying luggage I don't want to get wet, with even a little bit of water, I put the items in trash bags. All in all, the Retrax has been great. I was considering selling mine so that I could switch to a RollNLock, due to the much smaller roll-up container at 7-inches. Part of that consideration is I bought the Builtright Bedside Rack system. The roll-up bin obstructed some of my ability to mount items towards the cab to the side of the bed.

The Retrax build quality and capability definitely make it worth it and I recommend them. However the smaller roll-up bin would be nice.

I agree with RaptorRnr, only downside to Retrax is space it takes up with short bed. Mine does lock securely however. I think his just needs to be tightened. Just make sure install is done properly. I did thorough research on this before purchasing and believe this is the best all around product for bed cover application

Love my Truxedo ProX 15

Bought my BakFlip MX4 at a 4wheelParts event. Maybe 10% off and free install. I’m quite happy with it. Takes a beating. Mostly water tight (I see gaps occasionally so I suspect some water gets in) and quite durable. Black powder coat is flaking in spots from abuse. Easy removal if needed. When hauling something a little taller than the bed, the top still lays over it rather securely. Retractable units took up too much space and too heavy to remove easily. Works great for my needs.

Not retractable but I bought a Rough Country Tri-Fold flush mount cover for my Raptor off Amazon.
It's my second one as I also have had one on my Tacoma for 10 yrs.
AWESOME cover for $600 and no issues whatsoever...
