PML 11164 prototype transmission pan

I got to test fit a prototype transmission pan for my 2017 Raptor from PML. This is not available for sale yet. You can sign up on https://yourcovers.com/transpan_11164.php to see when they will be available for sale. This pan holds 2 more quarts than the stock OEM Ford pan. The skid plate had to be modified so it didn’t interfere with the PML 11164 pan. This is for a Gen2 with a 10R80 transmission

Please elaborate...is the modification a DIY kind of thng? How extensive is it?

Not sure if I like the extra capacity but a metal pan is better than the lego one that Ford uses.

If you can use a grinder with a cut off wheel then you can do the mod. 1st pic shows the bump in the skid plate that hit the PML pan. 2nd pic shows what was removed. 3rd pic is skid plate installed with about 3/8" of clearance between the pan and skid plate.

I also agree that plastics should be saved for legos. This pan is well made and has an excellent fit.

I’m really ok with a composite pan. A cast aluminum pan doesn’t excite me a ton.

It’s cool that it’s available though.

Does anyone have trans temp data from heavy offroad use? I bought a larger capacity trans pan for my first gen raptor because trans temps would get pretty toasty whenever I'd go jumping sand dunes on a hot day. 2 extra quarts would definitely help with temps if they're high.

I wish someone would make a direct metal replacement oil pan for those with the plastic one.
