For the reverse lights, I like the S2 Sport. I think it's PLENTY bright for what you need it for. It's a bolt-on kit and works great. You can upgrade to the S2 Pros if you want, but honestly it's not needed. We also offer the kit with S1's as well, which are slightly brighter then the S2 Sports. They are more of a cube look and some folks like that. I personally like the S2 look, as it looks better with the bumper, BUT we do offer the S1s if you want a bit more light back there over the S2 Sports (but the S2 Sport as I said are plenty bright).

Our Baja Designs reverse kits are also offered with our own upfitter control harness. This lets the kit activate when you go into reverse OR from the flip of an upfitter. What's nice about our kit is that it DOES NOT back-feed your factory reverse lights. Why is this important? Well it's protecting the circuit but now you can use your reverse lights as chase lights if you do a trail. Throw a set of S2 amber covers on (this is why we like the S2) and now you have chase lights on the trails.

As for fog light kits. Well our Triple Fog Light Kits are the way to go. We let you pick which Baja lights to go with, to suit your needs and driving requirements. Included in each kit is our popular harness which makes installation easy. And the best part is our mounting brackets. We make them right here on Long Island out of stainless steel and they offer you the most adjustments out of any bracket on the market. That's important when you want to aim the lights.

Shoot us a message if you need help figuring out what to get. We're one of the largest stocking Baja Designs dealers.

If you're looking for bright backup lights, we really like the Baja Designs S1's.

For reverse lights and the price point, the S1's are hard to beat!

I can vouch for both the BDS1s and @OffroadAlliance.com

I was concerned about camera wash but they assured me the S1s would provide plenty of light but not too much. They were exactly right.

I soldered my connection up in the passenger side taillight to keep it protected and dry. I also opted for the aux switch lighting harness to run it to the upfitter and have had no problems at all.

Good luck!

If you're looking for bright backup lights, we really like the Baja Designs S1's. The standard S2 reverse kit comes with S2 sports, 1130 lumens each at .9amps each. The S2 Pros are 2450 lumens each at 1.7amps. The S1's are 2375 lumens at 1.45amps.

For reverse lights and the price point, the S1's are hard to beat! Here's a few output pictures of the S1's and link to our various reverse kits:

And let us know if you're looking for a triple fog light kit! We've got a huge selection from Baja Designs, Rigid, Diode Dynamics and more.

And no camera washout with the S1's:

Can you add an amber cover to the S1's the same way you can to the S2? Looking at your website it looks like it is either/or but may be reading that incorrectly. Thanks.

Baja Designs does not manufacture an amber cover you can just throw onto the S1s. That's why the S2 is recommended if you plan to use them for chase lights. There are S2 amber covers available you can snap right on without having to screw anything in.

As previously stated, a snap on cover is not currently offered. You can easily change the lens out with the four small screws or we do make an actual amber lens that goes on the outside of the light held in place by the same four screws.

Thank you for the feedback. If you plan on using one of your harnesses to use as both chase/reverse lights...would the sport be bright enough or should you go pro?

I find the sports to be plenty bright honestly. For reverse they work great. For chase lights... unless you are doing an event where you have a guy coming up on you fast, sports are fine.

Pros would be good or chase lights at events where you are actually racing. But all the events most of us do don't allow people to get that close to each other, for safety reasons. Unless ya know you're Troy from Valhalla, in which case just get the F outta his way :)

But sports are plenty bright I feel for reverse/chase lights.

BUT if you want to upgrade to Pros because you just want them to be brighter, by all means go for it.
