Heading to the Forge

Getting away to the Smokey’s in a couple weeks. Want to take the kids to see the beauty of fall and the mountains. Anyone have any good tips or suggestions for some good trails/scenery near the PF area?

I live in the area, slim pickings close to the smokies themselves, few gravel roads in the park but no true off roading. I’ve been wanting to drive up to wind rock at some point but haven’t made it out there yet. From what I understand it’s mostly atv trails. I’m a newbie in the off road world and I’ve been really wanting to get my raptor off pavement but it’s been a difficult search, and even harder finding others.
