GEN 1 Is there a trick to remove your Dipstick... tube

I am literally in the middle of installing headers on my 2011. Drivers side went good, but the passenger side requires me to remove the dipstick tube and reinstall it once the header is in place. There is one bolt that holds everything in and then I think you are just supposed to be able to pull the tube out, but it's not budging. Has anyone else ran into this? Sprayed some Kroil around it hoping that will help get something moving

They tend to be a pretty tight fit. You may be able to thread the same bolt you removed from it back into the hole in the block then use that with a small pry bar to pry up on the bracket.

Rusted. Mine full on broke off while installing headers, and I had to install an aftermarket one. Common issue. Mine's a 2012 and this happened at the beginning of 2019.

Took me a while to get it out, but it finally gave it up. Put a pair of vice grips around it then used a bar against the vise grips and tapped it out with a hammer from underneath. Came out in one piece, but will have to be replaced with a new one.

Now to figure out what to do about a tranny dipstick. Any recommendations? Have any of you guys had to do this?

Bought a B&M and spent some time with it. Have not yet got a consistent reading. Switched back to factory for the temporary. I will report back if and when I get it locked down.

Honestly the factory isn’t that hard to use under the correct conditions.

I went with a Performance Automatic from Summit, PA68404. 2+ years later no issues leaks/issues.

Looks like you had better luck than I did. Mine snapped off at the block. I was able to get part of it out, and the rest fell into the oil pan. I eventually got it fished out with a piece of wire and a magnet.

Yup, cheaper to buy a welding glove.
