First gen Rock Sliders

Hey guys! Just picked this truck up last week, and love it! But man those side steps had to go, first thing I did when I got it home was pulled them off..

I have a trip to Moab on 11/14 to break this thing in, and need to get some good sliders asap. I was really hoping to find a frame mount set that extends out to cover the bed sides too, that can take some abuse. I have been searching everywhere and can't find anything to save my life. Does anyone have any recommendations? I may have to just make some myself, but im hoping there is something off the shelf first..

If you don't have sliders before Moab put the stock steps back on, they will offer some protection. @jzweedyk has started a pretty comprehensive Moab thread, there is info on raptor safe trails in there.

Curious if anyone here has these. I'm looking to put something on the side of the truck I can use a farm/off road jack to jack the side up. I'd imagine I can pick the back up on the hitch with the farm jack and the front on the ADD bumper, but the sides there's nothing to grab.

Doesn't seem like the ADD ones are actual sliders and are just tubes that bolt into the stock step locations. The RPG ones actually go to the frame like a real slider does. I'm wondering if anyone has done anything universal?

If you decide you can wait, Hefty Fab Works used to make some really nice weld on sliders. Not sure if he still offers them but they are very clean and durable. I like how they sit higher than regular steps too.

I've heard those are nice too, but I'd prefer bolt on. It seems like RPG is the only "true" slider, but a lot of people said that the ADD style bars can easily support the vehicle without crushing the cab as well. I know there's thoughts where the frame mounted are better or worse. Just looking for opinions.

Just received and installed RPG’s sliders last week. Very well built and attach to both the frame and inside rocker where the OE sliders attach.

The sliders are tucked into the truck tighter and extend further down the cab for protection behind the rear door.

My only issue with them is that you're solid mounting the cab to the frame, but otherwise I think they are well built and would take some abuse!
