I think someone made like 425whp on 93 octane on here. But shortly after they found a cam phaser was loose so who knows if there was more in it. Also, they went with only 9.5:1 static compression. Which is lower than stock. For an N/A app I'd want 10.5:1 or 11:1 compression, depending on where the dynamic compression ends up with the cams I was using.

Why not go with another built motor like coyote? I just feel like there’s not much support for the 6.2

Engine swaps are pain, especially if you have a vehicle that needs to pass emissions test.

Support for the 6.2 may be sparse, but what is offered is of good quality. Putting a different engine in doesn't make sense, at all.

True but spending 25k on a n/a motor doesn’t make sense. Don’t get me wrong I would love a 6.6 stroker but not for the price of a gen 1

$25k installed isn't exactly expensive for a quality built engine (as opposed to an OEM replacement). Getting a Coyote built to similar specification, installed, and running with the appropriate wiring and electronics would ultimately cost more, and you'll be at similar power levels with less torque or a more narrow powerband.

To put it in perspective, the last evo engine (inline 4 cylinder) I shipped was about $16,500 for a full bling long block, and I didn't install it. Billet crank, aluminum rods, ported head, custom pistons, etc. Dressed to the same point the livernois 6.6 comes as- valvecovers to oil pan, timing components, water pump/thermostat housing/water pipe, harmonic balancer all installed. Just bolt up the intake and exhaust manifolds (turbo kit in the Evo's case), fuel and ignition system and its ready to go.

You want a real racing engine, expect to spend north of $50k for something like what you'd find in a trophy truck. Or since you mentioned a built coyote, an MMR coyote long block built to what I think is similar spec to a Livernois 6.6, you're looking at ~$20k, and then you have to install it.

I agree, I paid 10k for my last crate motor (restomod) and still had to buy all the accessories, ended up costing me 18k and I installed the engine myself. I wouldn't hesitate to drive my truck to Livernois and spend 25k to have it installed, if I had 25k just floating around, lol.

And $10k for a crate motor was likely something fairly generic/production line built, and not so one off/high end. If it wasn’t just an OEM engine even.
