I agree with the below articles when it comes to luxury trucks—not as a criticism. This is good for consumers of specialty trucks & SUVs—if influential product managers can keep pushing higher-end niche trucks as viable “image/halo” vehicles.

In reality our family Raptor will likely see little more difficult than occasional grocery store trips, road trips, occasional winter use to visit family, or “gravel road off-roading”.

That said, it great to see vehicles like we enjoy in production.

NOTE: We like off-roading. For that we prefer well used UTVs, bikes, and an old well-maintained pickup where more pinstripes, dents, and a muddy interior are not a cause for concern.

Pass those clean Raptors on down. If you buy new then we can buy used and get them dirty. They're a lot of fun off road, you should try it. I bought a gently used 2010 6.2 with 85k on it. It has one parking.lot baseball sized dent that was repaired . Perfect for getting muddy and not worrying about every little knick and scratch.

I seem to buy new and then beat senseless offroad. I wouldn’t recommend my approach nor my used Raptor’s.

I'm getting the feeling that there are two types of used Raptor. The garage queen and the beater. If I was looking for a used Raptor, I'd look for one with no visible wear and tear from off road use. It's not like there aren't a lot that never went off road to choose from.
