I am at a dealership collision center and I know the vehicles we service have to be aimed if there is any change n the camera. The camera in the front and the camera in the windshield have to be within a certain degree of each other to work properly. My truck was 1 week old and somebody backed into the left front bumper corner just pushing it back a little bit and it was enough to put it out of aim.

That’s an expensive guess. The Cruise Control Module (CCM) needs to be programmed and a special calibration/alignment procedure needs to be performed in order for it to function. The Image Processing Module A (IPM-A) is also part of the adaptive cruise/pre-collision system; it’s integrated into the interior rear view mirror.

Yes. The CCM needs to be accurately aligned both in the horizontal and vertical directions. The vertical alignment is performed with a combination square level by turning the E Torx adjustment screws. The horizontal alignment is performed with the Ford IDS scan tool.

The CCM requires the alignment procedure even if it’s just removed and reinstalled, so the chance of it working properly is not great. Even if you can get the warnings to clear, the system still may not operate properly.
