The directions indicate an additional step for Raptors to remove the roller bracket. I did so on my setup. I’ve had no issues doing so. I believe the purpose of the roller bracket is to preload the bottom overload springs, since the RAS adds a preload, it’s not needed. The bottom springs fully engage just fine when I hook my 24’ Glastron.

I just had the RAS installed and the noons at the shop forgot to remove that roller. Is this something I can simply do myself at home with a ratchet or does it require more sophisticated tools again? @Wainwrcb

I just looked at mine and it looks like the bolt has a Torx head. Also, on the driver’s side, the shock may have to be removed. This may be necessary for the bolt to have clearance to be removed. Either way it should be a quick and simple job with basic hand tools if you are somewhat mechanically inclined.

I had to cut the bolts on the rollers with mine, I managed to round out the head on the bolt instantly, it was soft like warm butter.... That was when the truck had 5,000 miles too, so no chance for corrosion etc.

Solving it next week by fitting Icons and SVC bump kit.

If anyone wants a very lightly used set of Roadmasters hit me up, Ill do a great deal.

Did you get them off? To take them off you will want to Jack the rear of the truck up so the springs are free to hang to limit compression on rollers. I used a ratchet with Allen/hex bit on driver’s side, as the head side is towards the outside. On passenger side I had to use an Allen key, as the head is towards the frame and space is tight.

I got one side off, the other side was so tight I messed up the socket. So i had it taken off by a shop. Both are off now, and I'm very happy with the RAS. Night & day driving difference, cheaper than Deavers, and perfectly capable.

Did you do the 20% or 40% setting? And how was rear ride height affected?

I did the 40% setting. I didn't feel like the ride comfort was affected at all, but it did remove quite a bit of the nervosity of the rear axle. Overall super happy I did it. In terms of height at 20%, it is not a difference in ride height. At 40% you're gaining about 1 inch in the rear when unloaded, or stock height when loaded. It also removed a lot of the sagging when towing, but if you tow something really heavy, it'll still sag a little bit (maybe 1inch below stock - still better than with pure-play stock leafs).
