I hear a noise in my backseat sometimes, but only when my Mother-In-Law is sitting back there.

FYI I finally got around to lubing the rear fixed panel of the roof with this lube above. I was very doubtful just squirting this lube around the top of the seal would do much to rid the creaking and rattling noise coming from the roof. But I soaked it up pretty good and it seeped in. I also went inside and put some lube underneath. Low and behold, it’s 97% better! I can’t really hear any chatter coming from the moonroof anymore. Amazing! The silicon grease while a good maintenance measure, did not fix the noise. But this somehow did. Must be it’s ability to seep in.

Thanks! Wish I could buy you a beer @GCATX lol

Silicone spray lube works very well on the back panel. I still had a slight bit of noise after using the grease, so I soaked the entire seal of the back panel with silicone spray lube. Let it sit overnight and it was 100% gone.

Right? Isn’t it amazing by just getting some good oil in the seal of that back panel. Once it soaks in, it does its magic. I was getting quite annoyed with the rattling roof. Very happy now. I originally greased everything with silicone paste lube, but the back panel seal. No way to get lube in that fixed panel. Oil lube works. I can only gather the seal gets stuck to the edges of the metal roof and the torsional twisting of the cab was trying to flex that roof panel and causing the noises. It took probably 9+ months from the time the truck was new to develop the problem. Go figure.
