I could not stand the stock ride quality from the oem foxs. Even after lightening up the compression valving and trying to stiffen the rebound they still just weren't right. No where near enough rebound valving, they would fly off the ground with the eibach coils i had. The noise comes from the external bypass tappet valves on the rear. The internal bypass does not make noise. Right out of the box my 3.0 kings rode so much better than stock in my opinion . I have some 3.5s for the rear, they have metal tappet valve which are "supposed " to be noisy as hell..we will see

The slot delete turns the bottom a-arm pivot mount on the frame from a slot to a round hole. The slot is used to push the a-arm in and out to adjust camber and caster. An a-arm with adjustment needs to be used when you delete the slot in the frame or you have to get essentric cams and bolts. People do this because if you hit hard enough the arm can move in the slot because ford just relies on the torque of the bolts to hold everything. Most all other cars use the essentric cams and bolts to hold the arm in position. Dont know why ford didn't do it that way!

I heard fox shocks may be slightly quieter than kings. Have also seen something about nylon vs the metal valves for the tappets, which can help with noise. Not sure if that is a thing or something I just made up in my mind while trying to read up on bypass noises haha.

Yeah the metal tappets are gonna be louder for sure but definitely having a longer life span..I don't see the brand making more or less noise just know that the fox is not a true 3.0. Its like a 2.5 in a 3.0 body for the front shocks because of there style of internal bypass. Where as the king is a true 3.0. When u get to the external bypass they are gonna be the same size.

I had 3.0's for a while. They were noisy. Ride was firm. I went back to stock fox's with eibachs.

RaptorUtah--Are you happy with your stock Fox's and Eibachs? I know it is always a matter of preference, but many people have stated how much better the ride quality is with either the Kings or Fox 3.0 upgrade.
Did you anything to the back--new springs? Just trying to wrap my head/wallet around the cost of upgrading to 3.0s-

stock fox live valves ride beautifully on the street
fox or king 3s only make sense for increased off road performance

I was excited to get my Kings. I’m sure part of it was due to the fact that I spent hours a day reading about how they would turn my truck into a Baja racer.

they’re an upgrade, for sure. I still quickly hit their limits off road and in the dunes.

I prefer the ride quality of the eibachs. I have tried Geisers and kings as well.

I have had icon leaf springs on level 1 in the rear. They are sagging... icon is giving me a VERY hard time. I’m trying to warranty them.
