Hell, in Corpus (those two can be synonymous BTW) you don't need tread for dry weather traction. The weather alone acts as VHT on the asphalt! I grew up an hour or so southwest of there. When it does rain though...

I also noticed the K02s got louder as they wore down. I replaced my first set at 6/32. I always replace truck tires before hitting 4/32 because they don't do their job properly at low tread depth (especially in the winter). My first set did 22k miles to 6/32.

I run Toyo Open Country R/T’s and replaced at 4/32’s. I know, not a direct comparison. Even at that depth, biggest complaint was the road noise and seemed like they were harder to keep balanced.

I’m still at 10/32 after 29k miles on the original KO2s. I’ve thought about selling them with decent treadlife on them and using the money to offset the cost of new KO2s (somebody else posted they do this). There’re enough trucks and market for KO2s in Texas that I should be able to get a decent price for them.

I think you need to sell the whole truck! 10/32 with 29k mikes means you must drive it like a Prius. At 29k mine would be shredded rubber.

Its a pet peeve of mine to run my tires low on tread, I come from the actual off road world so thats my reasoning. I have never actually measured tread depth though. Id say at 50% I probably replace. Would hate to go into the desert with low tread and not enough traction.
