Hello I am new to this forum. I am having big electrical problems where interior lights flicker and the blind spot detection fault comes on then transmission shifts bad. The next warning is low brake oil every time I hit brakes. Then when I get home the truck eventually dies and all electrical is flashing including lights and door locks. If I wait 20 minutes - truck will start and no issues. But seat setting and steering wheel reset. This only seems to happen when driving on highway and upfitter aux lights are on and seat heaters on. Any ideas?
It’s still under extended warranty

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like a loose connection in the harness somewhere, wouldn't be surprised if mice/rats are eating it. Do you have rodents where you live? Open the hood and look for a loose connector. Take it to the dealer.

Thanks for the reply - you are thinking the auxillary light harness? Do you think if it was loose or eaten it could cause the whole system to go haywire like that? Is there a place in this forum specific to electrical problems? i took a video but cant seem to be able to post

It could be any harness shorting out. I know you said it happens when your switches are in use, but also when you apply the brake. Who did the wiring on your upfitter switches, I would start there. Another member had a short in the wiring inside his headliner. Wiring issues are hard to diagnos over the internet.

Yeah i get it - and i have an appointment. I wired them myself using deutsch connectors and they worked fine for years and my kids would flip them on and i wouldnt even know it. With that said maybe power washer has hurt the connections or like you said a mouse. we dont live on land or anything but you never know and we do have rodents i am sure.
i would just think that if there was issue with those lights, it should blow its own fuse and not make truck go nuts. i have taken it in a few times for trans issues and now i am convinced it is electrical as the last 3 times i got the same warning lights(blind spot fault, low brake oil when braking, charging system) - it slams on downshifts until it resets and those warnings clear.
on sunday when i got home - i tried to hit unlock after i shut truck down and you could hear the motors in doors just constantly trying to lock doors. i thought this was going to go on until battery died but it stopped.
appreciate the replies - i love this truck and do not want to bail on it

As @CoronaRaptor stated, start with your up fitter switches and modifications. Are any of the upfitter switches tied into a factory non-upfitter designated circuit? Do you have any additional electrical accessories or an aftermarket alarm?

Yeah - will do! None are tied into any non-upfitter circuit. i wired lights directly into the upfitter wires in engine bay. and the ground is tied to a screw on the frame. I dont have any other accessories or aftermarket alarm. I plan on unplugging lights until they find me a loaner and get appointment and just drive around with seat heaters on to rule that out. The 3 times this happened - both the seat heaters and aux lights were on.

Wasn’t there just a post about something similar? I think it turned out to be a dead cell in the battery or something. It wasn’t that old either.
