A. It's called subrogation. That's where you have a loss, but the cost of that loss is paid by someone else's insurance. (assholio's in this case)

B. Go to your favorite body shop, and ask if they report damage to carfax. If yes: then leave, go to next shop. (Most shops don't use or report to carfax because the process is so error laden. ) Also don't let a private estimator look it over, Carfax pays them for reports, so they are incentivized to over report damage.

C. Ask your insurance company if they report to Carfax... (see item B. ) note: my insurance company won't deal with carfax for that very reason.

D. If assholio's insurance accepts the damage as his fault, your insurance rates won't jump. They only rate risk on "paid claims"... Confirm this is the case with your insurance company. There are almost no exceptions.

E. Go see one of those shyster chiropractic/massage clinics with sign out front asking if you had a car wreck to have yourself "evaluated ". They will decide that you need massage therapy due to the incident and assholio's insurance is going to pay for all of that therapy.

F. PAY ATTENTION HERE, THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART!!!: Every Wednesday afternoon, for the next 2 or 3 months, you get to lay on the table for a nice massage while you are forced to think about assholio's gradually increasing insurance rates. It's awesome!

G. Ask assholio's insurance writer to cut you a check for all of the parts listed on the estimate and offer to do the labor yourself. Confirm that they dont report to carfax either...

I was rear ended at a stop light in an F150 that was 5 days old by an old POS Ford Ranger. Looked like just the bumper, but it was also the trailer hitch. It's gonna cost more than you think to repair it.
A-Hole said "Oh shit, I'm sorry, my brakes are shot"
I wanted to bitch slap the little shit.

I got rear ended last year. Other guys fault and medical(CT/MRI-scans mainly) was around 10k before any vehicle $$$.

20 months later my premium is exactly the same and that's with me bumping a few things higher like uninsured.

Don't lie about the incident, or possible harm to you physically, there's tons of terds that even do that for a living.
If you are truthful the Lord will come tom your aid, I know so.

Yeah- I’m kind of letting the trumped up injury comments go in one ear and out the other. That’s just not how my operating system is configured.

I did just find out that I have to leave next week for work, and will be on the road through the middle of November. Have to drive from NC to Spokane (with a few stops in between), and back through LV.

Just signed up for some dates at Raptor Assault while I’m out there. I think my gimpy bumper is probably going to have to go along for the ride.

I'm definitely NOT saying you should lie about any of the incident or your condition, but you also shouldn't leave the services that you've already paid for laying on the table.

It truly is how the system is set up, and by using it you also get to contribute to the overall economics by getting all the other folk in the process paid for a bit.
