I had the same thought as you, why not just remove the pipe? So I did. I'm using a vinyl end cap and hose clamp to plug the hole on the inlet tube and haven't had any issues at all. Truck runs great, no check engine lights. Links to what I'm using are below:

I think that, just watch the cap for dry rot

I was thinking of purchasing this bov but I noticed it comes with a plug for the recirculation pipe and you just zip tie a unused pipe. I don't like this idea is there a way to just fully remove that unused pipe and what would be needed to block it off on the other end?

Anyone have a video of how these sound? Is it Loud?

I just went through 21 pages and no one has posted a sound clip of this valve??? Also saw one memeber installed this with the ADD I/C charge pipe using a hose clamp to secure. Anyone else running this BOV with the ADD setup? How did you secure yours?

Does the BOV help at all with performance?
Does it affect/reduce your water fording capabilities?

You would have to take more caution fording water and off roading. SVC’s FMIC has a repositioned BOV to take care of this that I’m thinking about adding.

Better question might be is it working properly? I'm also personally interested in this unit to go along with a CVF intercooler. However, there were some problems and I've yet to hear that it was worked out with any finality.

Is that the case now?

You probably won't see any noticeable changes in horsepower...but overall the functional benefits of ditching the OEM valve are significant IMO. Cool sound, better response, and added durability/reliability under higher boost pressures. (I've used both Turbosmart valves btw) I would say the electronic one is going to be a better choice for most people looking for a plug n play solution.
Which version of the Turbosmart BOV is louder? Same? I have the older mechanical version already. Love the whooosh it creates, but hate the sprinkler/ ticking effect previously mentioned. Already tried to do the eliminating of the ticking with the modded throttle body Spacer first the vacuum line to run off of and unsploce the t fitting from the factory hard plastic pipe setup. Still have the ticking at idle though.

Picked one of these up last week and installed it. Well made, plug and play, easy install with ADD fmic :) honestly I think this BOV is quieter than stock. Partial throttle lift offs make the biggest difference in noises in comparison to stock. Once I figure out how to add video from Tapatalk I’ll post here
