So my guy in Chesapeake says my new truck exhaust sounds like a "100hp 4cyl. diesel with 4 mufflers on it". So I know there are threads ad nauseum about exhausts but my question is about the warranty. What "could" a different exhaust system do to cause problems and might void my warranty?

Also, if anything new....what do you recommend? And I'd say a new CAI would probably be needed?

Ford does offer a performance exhaust, not sure who makes it but if they offer it, should putting on any other manufacture`s cause warranty issues?

pretty sure borla makes the ford performance exhaust
At least they went with a solid built system, not so sure on the sound though. Aftermarket wise there are so many ways to change to sound from just putting an X-pipe in to you name it by mixing and matching components from so many manufacturers. I wouldn't know where to start and constantly wonder what if I tried this or that to get a sound that I might like driving around town but I would hate it on long trips or vice versa

Not to mention it is going to be criticized no matter what you do

I have changed the exhaust on just about every truck I have ever owned. Wouldn’t Ford have to be pretty hard pressed to deny warranty work due to exhaust change. - FTO— I am sure would know best, but doesn’t the dealership have to direct correlation to problem caused by the modification.

Won't bother with my exhaust, the best ones on the EB sound decent at best, and stock isn't much worse. Not gaining much regardless.

I have the Ford Performance Exhaust. My dealer reports that it’s covered through Ford. Now, is that the total truth, who knows.
