Like the title says, I'm wondering if the Curt 31083 or another similar will work on a Gen2 if I take off the skid plate. I have a unique short-term and temporary need to use a front hitch. Have used the Curt front hitches on other vehicles and they bolt on pretty easily. On the Curt site it says 31083 will fit any F150, but see at least one other place online where it says Raptors excluded. Wondering if someone smarter than me might know the real story before I order. Thank you!

Depending on the use I’ve seen some hitch mounts that use the factory tow hook on one side. Welding up a bar to span two of those with a center mounted hitch wouldn’t be hard, but if you can make due with one it keeps the load closer to the frame.

Hi guys. Thanks everyone for your responses. I never did find a hitch to work. But following your suggestions I did end up taking off the skid plate and tow hooks and bolted directly to the frame at the tow hook holes. Nice and solid and worked out pretty well for my needs. I wouldn't suggest it for anyone, but now that's over and I lived through it I can say it worked well.

There is another post about this and I mentioned the Curt Manufacturing hitch and front mount are available for Gen1`s and regular F-150`s
There a couple of pictures posted of what people have done, one setup had two receivers, one mounted to each toe hook allowing you to use one or both with a spanner bar across. He was looking to use a winch for the front and rear, if you incorporated a center receiver tube you would be able to use it on the rear hitch

This link is for a Jeep but the basic two outer receivers would mount where your tow hooks are

Got any pics of what you bought/made? I'm looking for a front receiver solution so that I can use an alum basket/rod holder for beach running.
